Thanks for putting this up for us paper players! Q: you go through some good commons for each color later in the video, but during the archetype portion are the cards you're showcasing also great cards in their colors or just good examples the set mechanics? Thanks for all the hard work you do!

Thanks! For this vid in particular I just wanted to showcase the mechanics in as many cards as I could since there are so many in this set. For most sets though I try to stick to “good cards” in the archetype examples

Drafting ravnica is like riding a bike. I played both days of the preview and went 2-1 day one and 3-0 day two. Got INSANE value from the drafts. This set is awesome.

Did they say why they weren't putting it on arena? It would have really shown a commitment to timeless as a format and maybe historic if anybody still plays that.

How many spells in a deck does it take to make burning prophet a card you want to run?

Good question! Since this set is pretty light on good 2s and prophet is one, my bar is fairly low. Id play it in a deck that’s a 15-8 split, but really aiming for 13-10. It’s great in Izzet, solid in Rakdos, bad in most Boros or Gruul decks but lucky for Boros, it has other good 2s

I'm sure it's just a matter of resources for the Arena team. They tend not to put the supplemental sets on arena in most cases

It’s a supplemental set (not standard legal) and they don’t always bring those to arena

Cyclonic rift is mythic but mastery is rare? Seems backwards.

2 drafts in, 3-0, 2-1 my takes Rakdos is really good. Not only does it have great cards like light up the stage abd skewer the critics, it has all the synergies like footlight fiend+bladebrand and act of treason + sack Gates deck is fake. Dredge is fake. Draft izzet only if you have enough pteramanders and even then eh. Ive never seen a dimir deck. Good cards are really good, bad cards are rancid. Try to draft that 3 mana 3/2 instead of the off-color good card you might splash. Good creatures are also rare and hard to kill. 3/3s and up are really good. Call of the conclave turn 2 is amazing. There are ZERO 6/6 wurms or 4/4 rhino tokens you can hope to populate.
