There is some beef and one hungry cat. One part of the beef will be raw and the other part will be boiled. The raw meat is red. The cooked meat is almost brown. Let’s watch what the cat likes to eat more.

Or he merely didn't realize at first there were two kinds. Once he'd sampled a few he learned to distinguish between them and began going with his preferrence. Really, we can't ascribe motives based on a sample size of one... more trial runs are required.

Cats. We feed a little cat that was abandoned by our neighbour who moved away 2 years ago to Italy and just left the cat (we are trying really hard to get him to come in and we’ll take care of him, but he likes outside it seems - even in the rain, we can’t get him to come inside - he’s very timid) but he is SUCH a food ho! Turns out we’re not the only household in the street that feeds him - which I found out shortly after feeding him a whole bowl of cat food and some treats, then letting him out of the hallway window (he comes into the communal hallway but never our flat), where he immediately pawed at my neighbour’s window, which she opened and fed him some chunks of chicken out of - he ate them all, then started doing that full body convulse thing and threw up on her window sill! 🙈 I tried to warn her but she couldn’t hear me from my window.

I've tried this on my cat a few times, and each time, she goes to the cooked meat for the first bite, then realize the raw meat _could_ taste better, then goes for the raw. Happens everytime lol

Calories can be digested better in cooked meat. cat will gain more energy by boiled meat whether he likes it or not. may be he goes for raw because they have stronger scent.

@@leihejun844 I had a runt, only raw helped her gain weight/condition.. We always put or preferences on animals. Vegans make dogs and obligatory carnivores vegetarians or vegans. Boiled is no good for cats, they tolerate it though. Check out raw fed bengals.

@@paigeherrin29 definately not true. the safety reasons themselves would put a theological argument that person who eats raw meat is more likely to die therefore the human would develop preference to avoid it which would be genetic rather than cultural. If a newborn once is able to eat other than milk, to be given a raw and a cooked piece of food, rest assured they would eat the cooked piece.

Cats are designed by nature to digest raw meat and from what I have heard it is much healthier for them. I've also heard that most commercial pet food is pretty unhealthy. If I had a cat like Pusic, he'd be getting raw food most of the time because I'd want him to live the longest, healthiest life possible.

Raw everything is much better. Non-raw anything doesn't have almost any useful stuff in it. But meat is not for humans at all. Everything that consist of a complex protein which differs a lot from ours will destroy our body's protein and rot eventually. And become pus. And pus is the reason for all the so called diseases. If u notice carefully the first few bites he was still getting used to the smell and understanding which is which and evaluating the taste... Thr cat can only understand which is raw and which is boiled by smell.. so after he picked up the smell he only sinffed for the raw meet ... There was a point when the raw and boiled meet were too close so he got confused for a moment and had to smell longer...

Pusic is an adorable cat. He has loving parents that care for him. Very intelligent cat. Seems to prefer the raw meat a little more than the boiled meat. Either way remarkable cat!!!

actually they can see colors just as "well" they just dont have receptors for red light so red and brown look almost the same to them

im guessing the cat at first wanted to try all of it, but after it realized it preferred raw over boiled, it took a minute to sniff out which was which after solidifying that boiled smells different (and maybe recognized the pattern you put it in?) it went for raw. the cats not picky, but it definitely had a preference!!

Oh how much I admire the ‘normal’ cats. My boy is adopted, I kind feel he’s spoiled by his precious owner, he couldnt chew well (he has perfect teeth), he just eat wet moist cooked mini diced soft food, and crab.

Cats can taste/smell the ATP protein in meat, and it disintegrates when cooked. And it's the most important sign for them that the food is edible. Fried though. A friends cat loves fried. It still destroys ATP but it does bring other smells so much forward it's tasty tasty best thing ever.

nah, the electrolytes and flavours and flavourfull oils just get dissolved away in the water. Oven roasted, or as you say fried (yuk) still contains the oils and electrolytes that contribute to the taste. There is reason why people roast beef instead of boil their beef. Imagine boiled hamburger patties. Also what restaurant would refuse to make salt (or even msg) or condiments containing salt unavailable?

The only reason why the cat eat that many boiled pieces is because he was confused. You used the same hand to serve both meats cross contaminating the raw and boiled. As soon as he realises this he starts selecting just the raw pieces

Exactly what I noticed. This video is a demo on which one the cat PREFERS, cooked or raw. Clearly, raw is the answer -- basically a 2:1 ratio. I imagine that ratio would be in greater contrast if the meat wasn't cross contaminated.
