JamieP: "have you ever listened to prefab sprout? maybe not. maybe you've heard 'the king of rock and roll' (hot dog, jumping frog, albuquerque) but nothing else. in my opinion though, everyone should listen to their album 'steve mcqueen' at least once. you may not personally love its brand of jazzy sophistipop, but listen with a critical ear and its clear it is a tour de force of both songwriting (paddy mcaloon) and production (thomas dolby) whose mastery is delightfully understated and whose influence is felt widely in pop music decades later. big ups from jamie paige. anyways if you had asked me a couple months ago about writing a puppyboy song i would've told you; "my friend, everyone and their mom is a puppy these days, they don't need my help." and to some extent that is a universal constant that remains true. but to be perfectly honest, i woke up yesterday at 3:30 in the morning so i could go play the new final fantasy xiv expansion and after wading through the petulant mires of cat girl hell i think its okay if we do a little puppy woof woof bark"
