I only recently discovered this very talented singer. I believe she is related to Etta James but have read conflicting reports, but her voice sure is reminiscent of Etta's.

"Genius & Friends" from 2005. I believe Charles's vocals were unreleased and paired with James's recent ones. (Charles also did a disco version by himself in 1980.)

All that talent, on this cut.... Who was on that guitar...?? He really added something. This had a groove to it, that the McCann version lacks. A smoothness. Might have to do with that bass groove thing goin on in the background.
