As a percussionist, I appreciated the description of the bouncy articulate chords like the timpani drum head, never thought of it in that way.

You are better than Heifetz because he would never have been able to do such friendly sessions! That makes a big difference with the old way teaching violin where basically that was an instrument taught to masochistic by sadistic 🥵 please keep going! Looking forward to listening to you live.

In class wity my teacher. I rotated my finger slightly onto the correct note, same as wrist vibrato movement! Technique saves 😂😂😂

Hi Ray… i was just thinking…. That there would be more benefits if the app allows people to see the real person practice. I mean…if there was an option to see how the player is practicing, how their posture is like, how they support the violin, (in case there is tension anywhere…) which I thought really impacts how they sound as well?

I play Baroque and Irish Violin. the question I ask during practice is ‘Does it sound tinkley and pretty enough’. Wull we ever see Ray Chen try a Baroque bow?

Shame there's no viola option in tonic. Guess I'll have to pretend to be a violinist and thus increase the standard of both instruments. ;)

In the description on this video - it says “all instruments are welcome “… It would be interesting if a Chinese instrument ( erhu) enters into practice 😂

@@tsunshinegal9102 Yeh, in setting up the app, while I could only choose from 4(?) instruments, I was later able to edit my profile to change "violin" to "viola". I suspect it really does mean that you could put yourself on there as an erhu player. It's an interesting app, although somewhat lightly populated when I was on there, but then again that was probably late night for US people.
