In my understanding, I think it's because of the communication Chatterbox and Ray Mond have developed from the Mine Talk If I remember correctly, the Mine talk happened first before the Valentines thing. The two sees each other as someone who validated their feelings especially for the side of Chatterbox Because what made Chatterbox realized that Ray Mond really is different from others is because she validated his trauma and didn't make fun of it. One more thing about the Mine talk is that Chatterbox got to unlock the past of Ray Mond that she doesn't really talk about much, and she mentioned that she doesn't like being vulnerable so that's a big thing for that character. (Better to watch the mine talk for better understanding, it's hard to explain all (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠) ) What I also realized is that why Mondtello didn't worked out is because Ray Mond wants to know all about Gigi but Gigi's personality is being a close book. Ray Mond wants her to be an open book but Gigi wasn't. This explains the Journals Gigi has been doing. It kinda also explains also her hatred to SK because Gigi is willing to be vulnerable to him while Ray Mond was trying but Gigi isn't willing. Ray Mond doesn't like that the people she cares about is hiding things from her, especially when she knows they're really going through something. For Twinkles, he didn't got the Past Unlock from Ray Mond and vice versa. Ray Mond got the Eugene unlock from Twinkles when she already has feelings Chatterbox. After the song, he didn't really pursued asking her out or progressing the relationship because he's new to it as well. Ray Mond really isn't the type of girl that would pursue someone (Flashback to the Lang Pursing because of Tarot Card Reading LMAO). The turning point of the Chattercup's relationship is the Mine Talk followed by the Fake Dating where they realized their true feelings but won't admit to each other.
