Ray Padgett is a music writer based in Burlington, Vermont, whose previous books include Cover Me: The Stories Behind the Greatest Cover Songs of All Time (2017) and, in the 33 1/3 series, I’m Your Fan: The Songs of Leonard Cohen (2020). He writes the Substack newsletter Flagging Down the Double E’s, about Bob Dylan in concert, and is the founder of the cover-songs blog Cover Me. Steven Hyden is an author, rock critic, podcaster, and filmmaker. His books include Your Favorite Band Is Killing Me, the national bestseller Twilight Of The Gods, Hard To Handle (with Steve Gorman), This Isn't Happening, Long Road, and the forthcoming There Was Nothing You Could Do: Bruce Springsteen's Born In The USA and The End Of The Heartland. He is the cultural critic at Uproxx. His writing has also appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, Billboard, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Grantland, The Ringer, The A.V. Club, Slate, and Salon. He was the consulting producer of the 2021 HBO documentary Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage. He currently co-hosts two podcasts: Indiecast, about contemporary indie rock; and Never Ending Stories, about Bob Dylan's Never Ending Tour. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two children.
