I once asked him, how do you become a songwriter. His response, ‘ live through some crazy shit, learn 3 chords and put it on paper’. One of the coolest people you’d ever meet

It’s a damn great album! Met hi. At south Austin music. I was going to have a guitar lesson and my instructor told him I was learning this song. He sat in and played it to help me along. I can’t play for shit, but it was really nice of him to do that. Plus he has a story for EVERYTHING!

Didn't I see you on Jimmy Fallon, singing Drunk Poets Dream, so tell me why go to Nashville knowing you never ever gonna be mainstream. Go to somewhere like Texas, where they dig Roots, Blues, and Country that's real. It's better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven, that's why I'm going to Mobile.
