Mon Laferte was born in Chile. She grew up on a very improvish part of Chile where her home didnt have doors and parts of the house didnt have roof. Her father left her n her mother when she was 6 yo. Her grandma was a singer and started grooming her. She left Chile with her then boyfriend to Mexico to advance her career as both entered a competition. In the midst her boyfriend broke up with her and went back to Chile. Alone in Mexico she placed 3rd in the show and recorded an album and did some TV work but nothing really happened. She fell in love again and after a couple of years he left her and she was devastated. She contemplated suicide. This song was written about that break up as she also mentions in the song her contemplating suicide. She was in a dark place for a year. She composed many songs and she dyed her hair black, got tattoos, and changed her style of music. Prior to this the world new her as Monserate Laferte but when she recorded her new album with her new style she came out as Mon Laferete.

She's one of the few that gets it I guess. Almost every reaction to this goes one of two ways. They either miss everything because they're closing their eyes pretending to be into it for the views, and on their phone due to their adhd culture. Or they shut down like something bad happened and can't handle it. There has been so much lost to history with how performances used to be like this at every lounge or night club. Before they had their dub crap that made the place about shutting out rather than feeling real music and a powerful performance. This is probably the last glimpse of it they'll ever have.

She wrote this song when her then boyfriend left her and went back to chile, she stayed in Mexico with throat cancer and no means to survive, she sold all of her clothes and belongings to stay afloat. She truly is a survivor, I bet that asshole of a boyfriend that left her is now kicking himself in the ass for doing so.

Hahaha, I was just passing by to say that she sings very beautifully, but if your personality involves throwing stones at your own country and then fleeing from the law that summoned you to account for your statements... Since she publicly accused the country's police forces and were sued, and what did she do? She fled to Mexico. Thanks to you and other artists who started the movement against the police, today in Chile nobody wants to be a police officer, and we have the greatest criminal crisis in the history of our country. We have gangs, the Aragua train, that charge small and medium-sized businesses for "protection"... murders... people are dying every night and no police officer wants to speak out because of statements like the ones this woman made, who now lives in luxury in another country while we are suffering here, and she doesn't even have the decency to show her face. A disgrace of a person.
