The car is metaphorical in my opinion as well as related to a real event that happened to him. So a double entendre, because when he says "i h*te this car that im driving" i think he is speaking about the car but also speaking about himself, this body, this person i am, i h*te it. I h*te my life. I h*te myself. I h*te being alone with who i am. And when he says, "i could pull the steering wheel" thats clearly a sign of s*icidal thoughts. Very touching song honestly. Very relateable to many.

TOP's music really does that to you. You're bopping along to an insanely catchy beat, then the lyrics sink in, and you feel like you've been kicked in the chest. This song hits so hard, on a deeper level than most people think. He wants to escape who he is (shaving his head, alone with his thoughts) so he becomes a new character (wearing a mask, with his music and fans). But he always comes back to himself.

Tyler is one of the best lyricists the music industry has ever known in my opinion. It's something that's comes back in all of Twenty one Pilots' Lyrics. They're always weird but understandable in some kind of way at the same time. You just need to listen to them with an open mind. Just an amazing band!! Great reaction, and I look forward to hearing you react to more of their music! Their two biggest themes in their music are mental health and religion, and if you ever wonder what a song is about, if you look at it through one of those lenses, you'll be fine. Not that they don't do romantic songs, but they're not your typical love song, and there's usually only one per album. I LOVE Air Catcher. There are three music videos that I can think of where Tyler cuts his hair (or has it cut for him): this one, Levitate, and Snap Back. They're all excellent, but all VERY different. Of course, that's kind of Twenty One Pilots' thing. Their songs all sound SO different from each other, and all different from anything else you'll hear elsewhere, but so distinctively THEIRS. There are a lot of people who insist that their albums (especially the three most recent) need to be listened to in a certain order because of the lore that runs through them. However, though I enjoy the lore, I don't find understanding it to be essential to my enjoyment of the music. All of the songs are excellent, and you really can't go wrong.

There's a lot of hurt that we go through in life and my favorite part, and what I relate to the most with TØP, is that they show that we're not alone in this. It's so easy when going through hurt to feel like I'm the only one who deals with this or has experienced this. This reminds me that we all are going through this, that it's hard, and that it's okay that it's hard. We can get through it together and we're not alone.

Although tyler didn’t write the song as a body metaphor, his whole thing is legitimately that the interpretation of art matters more than the intended meaning, and therefore whatever speaks true to you is what it means, as perception is reality. I was at this concert when they filmed the MV for car radio The concert itself was going normal and they performed car radio like normal and when the "and now i just sit in silence" part came in he told everyone they they were filming a video. he told us to split down the middle and look at the other side and not to move. then he said im gonna come in and walk the aisle and then when the beat drops go back to normal and surf me to the front. (this was a normal thing at the early shows. he would always crowd surf on this song and also he started the arm up and waving) then when the next verse comes up you guys know what to do. it was a great experience and the crowd was great. but yeah not a paid crowd at all. just a lot of dedicated fans in columbus ohio

Liked and subscribed. You won’t be disappointed if u did more twenty one pilots. Especially from their Vessel album. The whole album deal with mental health, anxiety, depression, and even “ending things”. Songs would be Migraine(hint: it’s not about a headache), holding onto you, Guns for hands. Lyrics are second to none, and you have to play close attention. Anyway, wishing you the best on this journey if u decide to take it

This continues to be one of my favorite songs. The lyrics "sometimes quiet is violent" and "I can pull the steering wheel" really speak to the presence of intrusive thoughts. Every time I hear this song it speaks to my soul.
