just leavin a comment for what worked for me cuz i didnt have contact cleaner. i tried rubbing alcohol and compressed air but the middle mouse button still needed very hard pressure to register a click. simple fix for me was turning the mouse upside down so sensor facing up. put scroll wheel on mousepad add some pressure and drag it forward and back fast and side to side gently. worked for me at least opposed to everything else i tried.

used some mass airflow cleaner seems to have worked :)

didnt really fix it permanently. so i ended up taking the mouse apart and spraying the cleaner directly into the switch. Which then caused the switch to go gummy and lose its click. I then tried to unsolder it, and the heat i guess free'd up the switch.. anyway its working good now@@RX580Admin

@Tantium Yes, it happens to me too. When the contact cleaner is first applied to the switches, they sort of absorb it and feel mushy to click. However, half an hour later, after the contact cleaner fully evaporates, the clickiness of the switches comes back.

wd40 works extremely well as a contact cleaner. However, it leaves an oily substance that attracts dust and further deteriorates your mouse. Also, wd40 can attack certain plastics and break down over time.

@@RX580Admin The thing you used does not leave oiliness on the wheel, right? I have some phobia, i have "fear" of oil and grease. So, i care about having none-washable things oil free. May i use this to fix the scroll wheel?

Contact cleaners do not leave an oily substance. They are totally safe around electronics.
