Making Leather Notebook Cover free pdf pattern

I've wanted a leather cover for a while and finally got around to making it. I made it in a 5 oz pull up leather so I can see the wear and patina over time.
This cover was designed for a 5" x 8.25" Moleskine Notebook.
This project requires:
- 5 oz leather
- Thin leather maybe around 3 oz
- 0.8 mm thread
- 1 snap closure

If anyone is using the pattern for A5 paper sized notebook add 3cm to the covers width Good luck

Looks well made. You should finish your edges by sanding and painting, or burnishing, obviously depending on the type of leather this is. Guessing chrome tanned since it's pullup. Otherwise looks great.

Thanks! Yeah, it was oil tan. I didn't have any Tokonole or paint other than black back than, so burnishing would've taken forever.

Was that beeswax or similar that you worked into the leather to protect it?

I used a leather conditioner

@@Paintyee can you please tell me why you use leather conditioner? To protect it or to make it shine or for some other reason? Great job btw! Congratulations!

@@zoesiasou It's skin so it'll need to be moisturised. It conditions the leather and preserves it with the protective coating. You should do this with all your leather products every so often to maintain the leather.

@@zoesiasou I have always used Dubbin wax (a leather conditioner/waterproofer available under many brands) to good effect

Trusted the pattern, and wasted a piece of leather as it was not wode enough.
