RC ADVENTURES - Working on my '76 Chevy K5 Blazer - What Tire will I Use?! Axle Swap

Today I get a chance to swap out the axles and select new tires for the season. I was using this truck as an experimental puller - but as the snow has now fallen in the winter, I want to take this rig out trailing! The truck I am working on is an RC4WD trail finder 2, with a two stage transmission, and all steel driveline. I am looking forward to taking the topper off of my rig.. but I will do that reveal in the next episode where I feature this truck. For those viewers who wonder, this truck is 1/10th scale and is electric powered. Though I can put 22 volts (a 6s Lipo), I am currently running a 11.1v 3s Lipo. The power block (esc) I am using is a Tekin RX8, that has been modified to fit, and it is powering a T8 gen 2 Brushless 1/8th scale truggy/buggy motor. It is a true POWER HOUSE! The classic white tires fit the tuck well but to give better performance I would go with the flat irons.

Nice maintenance philosophising there Medic. It's really satisfying getting under the bonnet for the first time and realising that yes you can fix it AND put it back together :)

That body is SICK!!! I've done that kind of weathering in Model Railroading for years... but never thought of applying those techniques on R/C Rigs. Hmmmmm..... And I never knew that RC4WD made a Hard Body Blazer - WITH opening hood! When I'm done helping my friend, who's family is an awful situation, that's something I want to get. Flat Irons on the white Steelies is my choice.... I LOVE those Puller Tires! So much Badass!! Murph

I like the white rims with a agressive tire the second choice is great too. Maybe if you widen the fenders at the bottom a bit you won’t get the tire rub with bigger tires. Always love your vids. Best rc shows ever and I love that your wife supports you and the hobby as well and your son will enjoy to too. So nice to see. From your BC Canadian neighbour

This has become my favorite truck in the collection quickly MeDiC. The Ascender is still there and of course Black Widow. This truck though looks just gorgeous! Those pulling tires scale to size better, but mainly as a pulling truck, it looks scale. Great vids as always brother! Look forward to another year full of them!

That Blazer is amazing. I had a '76 and it looked very similar other than the color. Mine was brown and white with a black front left fender lol, but it also had a body lift, 36 inch BFG's and a 454. We also welded a 6 inch high scratch built bumper on the front of it to bypass some gates... I was a teenager when I had it but wow I miss it.

Nice rig. Back some time ago I had a 1/8 Blazer that was fully channeled frame and axles made to scale out of metal. Wish I still had and knew who made it.

My second vehicle was a 76 k5.ive missed that truck since i sold it.super tough rig she was.im down in new Jersey and just recently they have changed our inspection laws. So now a vehicle 1995 and earlier needs no inspection sweet.I'll be lookin for another k5 for sure.great vid man k5 is by far my favorite Chevy. Is it summertime yet ,Damn cold weather.13 degrees lastnight brrr

great video! and just for future reference thats a 73 to 78 blazer :)the 79 and 80 where with rectangular top headlights and the 82 to 87 had the 2 squares and the horizontal lights like the Vaterra Ascender. love the truck and and the paint scheme tho!

Medic, i have to say i love that truck. when i was growing up my dad owned a 1973 k5 blazer that look so much like that truck that its crazy. The color like near identical to his as well all the way down to the rust. the only difference is that the areas just above the finders didnt rust although just under the doors where the rockers are were really bad. He even had giant 33 inch all terrain tires and all. i love that truck and its amazing to see something so close as to what his used to be. I still remember when he took the top off and drove me to school in it when i was younger and when he picked me up from my first school dance in it embarrassing me. That truck brings back so many memories. He is now restoring that truck and the color has changed but it still looks identical to that one. Thanks for the feels bro if i did have twitter or other social media id post a pic on how similar that truck really is. If i can find a picture from before it was restored ill be sure to message it to you
