Nice video, well shot, and descriptive without speaking. One tuning suggestion would be to tape the wheel before installing the tire (paint tape works fine, trim excess), then glue the tire to the wheel with thin CA. It prevents the sidewall from peeling under lateral load and will increase consistency through the corners. The atomic tires are very soft, and suffer from a lot of squirm. The 050 suffer less, with round sidewall, but it still helps give a more direct response. The tape allows you to remove the tire and reuse the wheel. If you sand the inner edge of the left rear hub .5-1mm where it mates the axle bearing, you can tighten it down fully without increasing drag on the axle and reducing wobble of the wheel. that steering servo is an impudence, i paid much too much for these cars back then. even the servo from WLTOYS K989, which costs RTR about 40-50 euros is way better. just like many parts of the K989 are better than the mini-z... however, due to the fact that i didnt really know what i fancied back then i went with 1:18 xray, in my case the m18pro. which also makes a lot of fun :)

Great video! Tech question: Why do you only apply double side tape on the front wheels??

I bought this body and mounted it onto a slotcar chassis. Runs very nice on a wooden track. There is a widespread slotcar series called "MiniZ". You can use any Kyosho MiniZ body and mount it on any available slotcar chassis (that fits).
