Glue & Glaze is my favorite glue for applying windows. Goes on clear and dries clear. Easy to remove later as well.

The windows look great! Take away food containers or produce clam-shell packages work too and are free! Just a bit thinner and not as optically clear sometimes.

For the van’s duct taped window, you can consider using medical tape painted to simulate the color of duct tape. The thickness and texture of medical tape might fit the scale of the truck better than actual duct tape.

A couple of suggestions. You didn’t mention masking the windscreen wiper marks when spraying smoked paint with a little dust tossed on. Second tip as a retired old guy. Check out fresh raw carrots for crunchy chew, slightly chilled in the extreme heat of summer . In Australia they are like 25 cents each.
