Today I'm using some plywood to create a usable boot space for my Axial SCX103 Jeep CJ7. The stock interior panel is very flat, and cutting it out opens a world of options. I removed the rear battery tray and the shock tower brace to create even more room and started designing my alternative.

About the CJ7:
The Jeep CJ7 in its smaller version by Axial features a ton of cool details, and although the chassis consists of familiar looking items, it is the combination that is new. Straight AR45 axles with a high entrance pinion gear, the forward motor transmission with the functioning dig. The option to install another micro servo will allow you to use a two speed. Stainless steel directional links, a metal panhard mount, metal pivot balls and aluminium shock bodies are only a few key items that make this a very attractive RTR package. Add to this a highly detailed interior, opening doors, a ready installed light kit front and back, and a full Spektrum electronics setup and you can easily see that the list that keeps going. In the current line up of Axial vehicles I think the CJ7 might just be my favorite one yet. And: It offers a ton of possibilities for customization! More about that in a future video!

This is awesome! It turned out so nice. You explained everything very well, and you could show it off a bit more. It would be cool to see this done on a Vanquish Fordyce or Phoenix. Thank you for sharing

Hey man, I stumbled on your channel a few months ago. Your paint videos have really helped me tremendously. I'm not an artist at all. I just paint VERY basic schemes. I had an idea of a "galaxy" paint scheme. However, I have no idea where or how to start. And, I don't have extra body shells to practice on. Like you, i use mostly tamiya PS paint. If you can offer any tips or suggestions, that would be awesome. Thanks again.

Holy F**K that looks good Chris! I just started a Element RC Enduro builders kit. Would love to see a video of the differences between the 1 and 2 kit versions and your thoughts and suggestions. I think I have wasted my money...maybe???

I don’t have the Elements kits, I only ever built their Gatekeeper, but: I’ve never had a bad truck from them! Great stuff, easy to work on, reliable to run. Have fun!

@@hemistormrc that's some nice wood in the trunk. Is the laser the combined 3in1 machine? would be awesome to have such a wood insert for one of the "old style" bodied Elements (Trailwalker, SenderoHD, Ecto or Zuul).
