Ok, what we have here is simple spring clutch, it may be just a tensioning of the spring value, either by dismantling the clutch and lengthening the spring by small amount adding to the amount of [ drag ]... This way the clutch will still works as intended, but if done correctly maybe add just a few lbs to the lifting capability, But you are on the right track and thanks for the great video, yes it's a superb model and getting this to function just that little bit better will make it a great model..cheers..

I performed this modification last night. Instead of using string, I cut a short piece of Nitro fuel tubing, cut a slit in it and wrapped it over the spring and then cut a thin piece of Duct Tape and wrapped it over and around the fuel tubing. The fuel tubing will provide some give and hopefully still provide some amount of slipper clutch gear protection.

Good idea but i suggest u tu installed stopper switch for prevent from the damage gear... Look to the huina 580 full metal version.... Its use the stopper switch and u can copy an idea to make it

You could also use coffee grinds instead of real dirt it’s easier on the machines

Just adjusted the clutch gear on my EC160E, by the way of inserting a washer / shim into the spring clutch gear..{ gear end of spring }. The thickness is 0.5mm..x 1.5mm dia hole.. I cut a slot in one side, the size of the bearing shaft, for insertion onto shaft, 1.5mm wide.. This makes the spring have more compression and reduces the ability for the clutch to slip, increasing the digging pressure, After inserting this shim, close up with slot with small pliers... There is definitely more power than before, but not enough to strip the gears.. Think 0.5 is the limit, but 1mm could...??

Is it easy to take apart the double e without damaging the plastic and maybe having gears flying all over the place?It’s just the one I’ve got, the bucket movement doesn’t work, I’m thinking it’s a loose wire somewhere but I don’t wanna break it while trying it to take it apart. Cheers
