I couldn't resist a classic looking Land Rover to add to the collection.
I am looking forward to creating some vintage looking footage for this truck.
Plus points, it's very scale, great slow modulation & two speeds.
Negatives, lights are a bit odd for functions. I didn't think they would have hazard lights at this age. Scale is pretty small for a 1/12. The figure is a small star wars range. I understand though that this is basically the same chassis as the Beetle & Willys Jeep. Something not really ever mentioned by all the 'nice' reviews.
Wheel attachment is not 7mm hex as per most of the FMS range.
It locates on the directly on the drive pin. The tyres are fine & scale. But I have 3D printed some wheels to try & add some more capable tyres.
I have painted some features, but will weather the body soon.
3D printed number plates & a crate in the rear. the crate is located with magnets.
3D printed bridge, plywood centre section.
Purchased directly from FMS Hobby website. Cheapest I could find with fee UK postage. Arrived in a few days. Very good service.

Mmm...you went for a blue one. The actual blue which Land Rover used was a bit more...greyish,wasn't it? Either way, the sight of a 'real' ( pre-Defender) Land Rover delicately picking its path across your wonderful ramps was very gratifying.

Hello Del. Agreed the blue is a bit..too blue. I guessed most people will go for the green, so I wanted to be a little different. But I'm hoping some weathering will dull that down a bit. The yellow could be good if all rusted up. It's a great model. But the scale is more 1/14th really. It's makes sense they would use the same chassis as much as possible. I've tried a black & white filter & it looks pretty good. So I'll be playing with that again soon.

@@RC3DPrintAdventure I'm waiting all the "rusty" Series IIAs to appear on KZfaq; I'm guessing many people won't remember that they have ally bodies! I'm dying for one of these, but sadly I can't afford one. If they're still available at Christmas I'll ask for one.

@@Del350K4 Ofcourse, I would only rust the steel fittings! The best price I could get for this one was on the FMS website. They have good sales from time to time. Otherwise Amazon have random prices. I got a WPL D12 for £19.50 the other day. If I see any good prices before Xmas I'll let you know. 👍

@@RC3DPrintAdventure Naturally I knew you wouldn't have fallen into the 'rusty LR body trap'! A D12 for £19:50 - that's incredible! Goodness knows how selling one at that price makes commercial sense.
