Guys, i bought an rc heli yesterday, the Syma S110G Metal Series RC Indoor Heli, guy, great beginner heli, high durability, easy to control and cheap, got mine for $25. Tonnes of fun, great birthday presents + buy something cheap, and RESEARCH, i cannot tell you how many people i know went for the biggest and expensive and broke first week, go small, cheap and fun! Good luck fellow RC FLYERS *SALUTES*

I used to race 10th scale R/C electric cars 20-25 years ago and I was really good at it, then I left the hobby after our two local tracks closed. I recently bought a helicopter for only $30 and I'm amazed at the technical level of this toy. It flies predictably, it only took a few charges before I was flying it well, and I can't get over how much I got for so little money. A competitive race car cost at least $500 back then when all was said and done. The hobby came a long way since then!

That last bit was hilarious!! Nice job guys! And special 'hats off' to Val for keeping up with Daves heli tricks with the camera! Well done mate!

For those still wondering what throttle up is- the switch increases the throttle to a set point and the throttle stick now doesn't control the RPM but is changed to only affect the pitch. This way you can go from stick up - full positive (up) pitch to stick down - negative pitch and not have the motor slow down when inverted. One computer radios you can set the throttle point, up and down travels to suit. This one looks like a all or nothing approach.

@Tooombucket15 жыл бұрын
For those of you asking, no it would be a bad starter helicopter regardless of coaxial expierience! Try a honeybee fp, Fixed pitch helis take crashes much better (look how daves cp heli took his crash!) and that particaular model has a great following. It is important to be able to fly in all orientations before getting a cp.

I have flown these a couple years ago and do know how they work but was not sure how this particular one was set up. It was set up just how I use to set my old one up so that was easy. Yes, they are a little to hazardous for me! Thats one big reason why I don't fly them so much like I use to. I need foam planes and a padded room so I don't hurt myself.

Bought my first rc yesterday, the Y307, a small (mini) heli. It's perfect to get used to the basic controls and the different parts of an rc heli. And it withstand crashing perfectly (crashing WILL happen in the beginning!) I was very tempted to buy me the big stuff to start with, but the seller advised me not to, until I get used to it. Believe me, I don't regret listening to him, since I crashed a few times really hard. Luckily without any damage.
@xhaohaox13 жыл бұрын
Ur amazingly talented in flying for the amount of technical knowledge you know! I'm not even at your level and i've fixed my heli so many times i know it inside out! you should plug your gyro back in so that you can turn on and off heading hold and make sure ur heading hold is on when ur on 3D. I noticed how your heli kinda spun outta control when u tried that really fast take off, that's cuz ur gyro cant catch up! Cheers and keep up the good work!

Thats what I like about the breaky-break plastic! It DID protect the metal shaft and I don't have to replace it! Which is what I was hoping for cause its such a pain to replace that center shaft. I think the aluminum would be too strong which would bend the shaft.

Yes, thank you! Thats what Im thinking! Eveyone says aluminum but they BEND and are too strong so they BEND the center shaft. The plastic seems to brake clean saving hte center shaft form bending. Plastic seems to be the way to go for me for sure. I use to have aluminum and was replacing that center shaft all the time!

The helicopter must have a battery level meter on the remote controller and sounds an alert so you can land it safely before the battery dies completely. But I suppose that would need a wireless voltage sensor of some sort, LoL!
@MarkJohansen12313 жыл бұрын
Lol I have the brookstone parrot. Instead of one big proppeller on most, it is four housed proppellers like the ones found on the smaller ones. This makes it super easy to handle AND speed is super fast. It goes all directions and it's padded so the proppeller is durable...

RC for the common folk:) Awesome Job!
@kpercy048 жыл бұрын
fyi, aluminum parts aren't for increased precision but for durability, so next time it wont break at all when you land it. Worth the few more bucks and half the headache.

Just got a kds 450qs. I understand the switch of doom. This copter scares the shit out of me. I need LOTS of simulator time or lessons, I don't know. Maybe I'm not made to fly rc heli. Hands shake, drip sweat, lol, it's crazy. Adrenalin at max. Need 100% confidence and relax. I cant do that yet. I also have a dh 9116 and a v911.Props to your flying bro. Godspeed.
@noobzforever15 жыл бұрын
the switch keeps the rpm basically maxed out and you control the pitch of the blades. like the collective of a real heli. most can go - pitch to enable flying upside down etc.
@nitrokyosho23 күн бұрын
Does anybody know what happened to dave?Why he stopped making videos never appeared again
@3v1Bunny14 жыл бұрын
hmmz yup throttle up set well normaly the throttle to a fixed amount. disengages pitch/throttle mixing and makes the "throttle" leaver just pure blade pitch control, making it possible to fly inverted as it can go into "negative" pitch of the blades asswell.

Thanks! It was filmed the same day as last week. I use to have a TREX when they first came out (2-3 years ago) so Im just a little rusty! Oh, and I was never all that good with these. Just too much going on!
@CyBearOfBearBros15 жыл бұрын
Wow, i can't beleave, you are not used to use the 3D-switch but you are able to do inverted hovering like this. O_o I once had an issue with a cheep heli, about that size. Checked all the switches and sticks, plugged in the battery, *beep beep* and *WAM!* 3D-mode-throttle without moving a stick O.O in my livingroom! Luckly no pitch. Had to plug out the battery underneath that disk saw. But that thing you got there looks well crafted. Nice flight and emergency landing!

but I think they bend some in a crash from what I remember from my old TREX. The plastic is kinda nice cause it breaks away protecting that center shaft seems like.

that's not too bad on parts. I've probably spent that much in the several repairs I've done and redone to my parkzone vapor lol.

all those hours flying planks has given you good orientation skills for the heli! Don't over drain your lipo batteries - they don't like it.
@soupisgoodfood4215 жыл бұрын
Do you know what headspeed you're running? Sounds like it might be too fast in idle-up, unless you're too low in normal. I've got an 450-SE (all aluminium), but have replace the blade grips with plastic ones, so when I crash, I usually only break blades and blade grips, while the rest of the head is fine. With my old plastic head, I broke a wider range of parts, which meant more different spares to carry. BTW, holding your heli like that is a good way to loose and eye ;)
@AgroPDT12 жыл бұрын
It's called collective control! I'm so happy you haven't crashed into one of your friends, that's a big fing heli to go experimenting with inverted flying. Use simulators.
@GoldenElite015 жыл бұрын
When the heli shot up in the air, is that because you flicked the idle up while the heli was on the floor?
