I'm a long time RC'er. Watching someone drive for the first time reminds me why I love this hobby. One suggestion. If you want more control get a 4x4 version of that same truck or a 4x4 slash which is very similar.

Your reaction when it wheelied was the exact reaction my brother had when he first used his. I bought him the 4x4 instead of the 2wd though. It's been at least 2 years now since I got it for him. It easily has more money in upgrades that the RC was when it was new. I see you posted this 6 days ago so I'm going to tell you this. It won't be your last RC. I've got 22 RCs in my residence. Over $8,000 in just the RCs not including spare parts and/or upgrades. It is expensive, but it is soooo worth it. I recommend 1/8 scale monster trucks as they seem to be the happy medium between small scale and large scale. I personally have 1/10, 1/8, 1/7, 1/6 and as soon as it's off back order, a 1/5 scale. Even have boats and planes. When I got my first RC (nitro Revo 3.3) I thought to myself, "this is all I need" then I got a Traxxas Summit, then a Stampede 4x4 for my brother, a Rustler for his GF, then some for the niece's, then the Traxxas Unlimited desert racer, then a TRX4 Bronco, then another and another and another. It's an addiction that to some people can get out of control. It is soooo much fun though when you find the right ones. A suggestion is research Lithium Polymer batteries as they will change every aspect of the RC hobby for you. Longer run times, more consistent power delivery, more overall power (unless you drop voltage like getting a 2 cell lipo which is 7.4 volts while your nihm battery that came in the box is 8.4 volts) Your XL-5 ESC in your stock Stampede will handle a 3 cell lipo which is 11.1 volts. The biggest thing about lipos is if they aren't cared for can catch fire. I've been in the hobby for more than 3 years and I've never had a lipo fire. Lipo fires don't happen as much as people make it out to be, but should still be treated like it will happen. Ultimately, it will eventually happen. It's all in taking the steps to make sure the damage is minimal.

Had to come back to this today where it all started back before I knew how to use KZfaq properly other than just watching a video becouse I've been watching since the beginning but had no idea you could sub, like and comment etc. Had to see Justin grab the soup before you took his head off haha. Congrats bro! it's been a year since I suggested rc's to Alex for the shredquarters and look how far things have come with everyone! Awesome to see an rc car on the channel! I have my rc rock crawler and it’s a super fun way to pass the time, and I think they make replacement parts for the stampede so you can fix it, and you can also upgrade the truck as well, shocks and all that lol

I have the same Traxxas Stampede and I’ve broken almost everything on it. Stupid easy to work on, fairly cheap to repair with RPM parts

My friend and I used to drive these in the dirt of a baseball diamond and it was super fun actually doing drifts in the dirt!

Andy, you can buy replacement parts for these at the Traxxas website! So instead of having to buy a new RC car like you would with most store-bought RCs, you just buy the replacement part to fix it.

its a hobby grade truck. you can fix every single part on it and if you want make it do 70mph. thats why traxxas is the fastest name in radio control

There might be a track somewhere around your area. Possibly even an indoor track. You'd be surprised how "big" the hobby is. When I was growing up that's where I got my cars and parts, at hobby stores. Like, you'd go to the same place for crafting supplies, scrapbook crap, model paints and rc cars. Just, all kinds of general hobby stuff. Decent car for an out-of-the-box. Goes fast, lacks some control and needs better tires. Your remote looks a'ight, hard to tell exactly what you have in the video. Anyway, check around, you're likely to find some other rc car guys in your area that do geeky rc car things. It's fun.

I think you should try the stampede 4X4. It will have more traction on those slippery surfaces and more control in the air. The 4X4 is also better balanced as the motor isn't at the rear like on the 2wd version. Kool video though 👍🏽

A few things I recomend doing for the RC is buying larger body pins or buy bent body pins. Also buy the wheelie bar for the RC plus the Wide front bumper made by RPM

We have the same truck and it is a blast. Super durable and drives great. My son and i would love to see some more of these videos. Once you get the hang of driving it if you want to take it up a notch get a X-Max twice as big and built to bash at skate parks.
