RC On The Bench: Level3-RC Dual Motor Mount For Axial SCX10

8 жыл бұрынClick to subscribe: bit.ly/Sub-CCxRC --- The Axial SCX10 RC is back on the bench to get the Level3-RC dual motor mount installed. The new components include the mount, a Quicrun 860 waterproof ESC and two 27T Axial motors. It is important the the motor speeds and pinion gears match.
What should have been an easy upgrade took an entire week because I lost 2 of the 3 spacers that come with the dual motor mount and had to wait for Level3-RC to ship me some replacements - which they did at no cost. So a huge thank you to the guys over at Level3-RC for helping me out. Once I had the spacers, it was pretty straight forward. There are no directions, but the photos on the Level3-RC site made it pretty easy to understand what needed to be done. I've included links to the ESC and mount that I used.

The install looks great! In my brushed E-Revo I have been werking on installing dual 2400kv brushles motor's and ESC's. Planning on making a new motor mount placing the motor's next to each other and lowering the center of gravity.

Nice job on that! Sure was nice of Level3 to send you the spacers! Get those lights fixed, I love R/C lights, lol!!👍👍

Thanks +Jeff Thorpe - it was nice of them and I really appreciated it. I like lights too, but mainly headlights and tail lights. I'm looking at getting that kit for it.

The Atlantic Marco42 the motors are the same size, so you do everything the same. Just make sure you get the gear off the old motor.

You make it easier on yourself if you have the fish in a larger enclosure. Way easier to care for and the fish really appreciates it to.

Would this work on a element Enduro Trail walker??? I'm sure it prob would they are pretty similar if I'm not mistaken. I had the SCX 10 V3 but sold it n got a Arrma notorious 6s basher. But I got 3 element Enduro Trail walkers each one diff and one stock. N I been looking into a really cool build for the stock one. Or even one of my modified ones

how balanced is the truck after the upgrade? It seems to be a bit heavy to one side. Otherwise looks like a very worthwhile upgrade!

+ishanka tharika yes. Quite a few crawlers are setup that way. I haven't done it before.

The motor should fit, but you will most likely need to change the gearing. That much speed may also cause other problems.

I tend to replace and upgrade when needed. The gears still good, but I have my eyes on a metal housing and gear set when the need arises. With all the cars having needs, I try to wait until necessary on some upgrades.

If it is an RTR scx10 ii it should have the same gearbox. The kit has the 2speed transmission

Unless I'm seeing things that was a brushless esc can you run brushed motors on a brushless esc

It's a HobbyWing 30105400 Quicrun 860 Waterproof Dual Motor Brushed Electronic Speed Control: amzn.to/2gaIbKx So it can only run brushed motors.

upgrade your transmission gears to steel. when you get into a bind they will snap. i hope you've done this already.

+Necrokiller I'm looking at a metal gearbox, but haven't done it yet. I tend to run it until it breaks and then upgrade. Once the transmission gears go...they'll be replaced with steel

Necrokiller It didn't come off as bad to me. It's a great suggestion. The cost of the gearbox just isn't something I want to drop until I have to. Instead I got the light bucket kit and the Knight Customs angry eyes grill and mount set. :)

The more powerful motor will end up doing most of the work. All I see is added weight and more to go wrong.

Became another hobby...this workbench is now a fish tank stand with a 40 Gallon and 55 gallon tanks. Then there are 9 other tanks on the other side of the room in a custom rack system. haha.
