We are at it again.
We kick off the new season here at Renegade Rock Runners.
Get ready for fun courses for the casual crawlers to experienced comp drivers!
Class 2 courses were very difficult with extreme climbing and side hill angles which caused lots of tumbling on the course. No RCs or drivers were harmed during the event, fortunately.

Subbed! The RC world has a lot of good people in it. I'm proud to be a grown up kid with my favorite hobby grade 4x4 RC trucks. RC wasn't this good when I was a kid! I'm truly in heaven... Especially since I moved out in the country! I live the literal term of: "In the middle of nowhere"... Lots of hills & rocks. The best part is the 100+ year old goat trails all over the ranch! Im truly living the RC dream...

This is some killer footage! I like this course seems with the incline makes it very challenging. Great test to some of these rigs,drivers as well!!👍👍👍👍🤯

Truck’s capability and driver’s ability to pick the line were tested on this course. Small mistake will get you to roll all the way down to the bottom haha it was a fun day. Thanks for watching!

Awesome footage! I noticed the Buggy that had a perfect run was using the Voodoo’s with the tread in the opposite direction...better grip.

I hate the relaxed winching rules. What's the point of following any of the rules if you don't follow them all?

Hey John, it bothers me too but some of our clubs here are not as strict, compared to others. Some lowers to scale point caps, or have more relaxed ruling on penalties. It's to take it easy on newer and more casual drivers. Some trucks don't even meet the vehicle spec rule, but we don't turn them away. Thanks for your input!

I just bought my first crawler. I have a half acre of elevations from 3250 to 3305. Rock and dirt. Major rock towards the top 1/3. Plus trees and sage brush. I don't just walk up slightly to view. This is a challenge. I'm thinking a trial course.

After watching comps for a while, I'm starting to think that scale point values are too low. Guys with stripped-down rigs are crushing the guys with tons of scale points. -12 for a hard body, but you get two rollovers, a winch, and a gate because your rig is top heavy doesn't seem worth the -12 anymore.

Yes hardbody presents extra weight to worry about. However, if it’s tuned properly, the hardbody build can be very capable. A case in point, the white bug in the video is hardbody and he had the best score( 0 penalty ) on this course.

@@slopppy75 I saw something similar happen at East Coast Scale Challenge. Fella had a stripped out hardbody and took first in C2. But he was a damn good driver, and probably would have gotten first with an R/C car from walmart!

The guys winning all still have max scale points. They've just built to the rules and tuned their trucks.
