I know this is an almost 7 year old video but is without a doubt the best explanation of transmitter programming/mixing have seen to date. Thank you Mr. Vess for your time and clarity in your presentation.

This is the best video I have seen par none. Most assume too much when trying to provide instructions or how to do. Thank you so much..

Who needs mixing?? Who needs a stabilizer??....You may not NEED either...but flying is so much better with them. It's like having the right tool to do a job vs trying to use a screw driver to hammer in a nail. Thanks so much for this video. It's going to help me immensely.

Robert, I just bought & assembled the Multiplex StuntMaster and was stumped on how to set up the linear mixing in my DX6 until I discovered your video. Thanks a ton for making it so clear. I have high hopes of flying the plane a little better after implementing the techniques you shared.

At 35:00 he was looking to see elevator move with throttle. It didn't. For anyone reading these comments, the reason why is due to the switch position of Switch E. It wasn't in the correct position. If you look at the 3 boxes below the words "Switch E", they are labeled, "0", "1" and "2". Those are the switch positions. The little tiny black square under the boxes is showing the current switch position. In the video, it's under "0", so that means that Switch E is currently in the "0" position. A dark box indicates that the mix condition you programmed is active on that switch position. A light box indicates that the mix condition you programmed is NOT ACTIVE on that switch position. You can have multiple dark boxes as well, meaning the mix condition is active on multiple switch positions. In the video, since only the "1" box (Switch E position 1) is dark, the programmed mix will only be active when Switch E is in the "1" position. But, as you can see by the little black square under the boxes, Switch E is currently in the "0" position, which has a light box. A light box means the mix is NOT ACTIVE. So in the current switch position, the mix is not active. He just needed to change Switch E to position "1" for the mix to work.I'm sure he knows this and just got caught off guard in the video demo. I'm just documenting it here because documentation on how this all works is pretty scarce and as a newbie, I'm always wading through tons of material trying to find answers on how to do things. Hope this explanation helps someone!

You should write the manual for Spectrum. I have been trying to program a full house motor glider on my spectrum and this sure helped.

Hello Robert. I just came across your video on mixing and am still trying to wrap my head around it. I have been trying to set up my motor glider so that when I drop the throttle off it will apply just a touch of up elevator to maintain a better glider ratio. Without power the plane will tend to drop at a higher rate. This being because I do not have a folding prop on the front so that when it wind mills causes more drag and thus wants to descend. Not a bad thing as it helps set up for landings. I am new to mixing and want to set up my Spektrum DX6e transmitter so that I can throw a switch to apply up elevator so I can maintain a better glider ratio when I power the motor off for gliding. I so far have been un-successful in getting my transmitter set up in mixing to accomplish this task. Please let me know how I can make this work. Thanks, Dave

AMAZING VIDEO...THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! However, one quick question. So when you set up a mix, you use a positive percent if you want the slave channel to move the SAME direction as the master (Example: left rudder gives you left aileron)? Negative percentages will typically give you the opposite direction (Example: left rudder gives you right aileron)? Thanks again!!!

I am a beginner and have a high wing trainer plane that nosed up sharply when throttle was applied...too difficult to add downthrust washers to the engine mount so a friend added a mix 1 for THR / ELE ... ...when I look at the DX6 Tx screen it reads 6% 3%...0% offset....the plane now flys great and this keeps the nose from climbing when I apply power...but can you please explain what that 3% mix number is doing ...I am understanding that the first number ( 6% ) is adding down elev, but the 3% is confusing to me.......thanks

Will a throttle mix still work when throttle cut is active? .. can we “reset” AS3X to be level if the board wasn’t mounted at the exact correct angle? Asking for a friend.. 😂

This video is 5.5 years old. Great content! Thanks! I have a problem not addressed here though. My Horizon Hobby Carbon Cub S+ came with the hardware to install the flaps however I can't use the built in Elevator to Flaps mix because the Safe Technology consumes AUX1. AUX1 is in normal planes the default flaps connection I guess but on this plane the BIND button is the default AUX1 switch, AUX1 is used to turn on the throttle and is used to initiate PANIC MODE as well as Automatic Landing. The instructions provided by Horizon Hobby direct us to connect the flaps servo to AUX2 and so on. All well and good except there isn't any information about mixing AUX2 with the elevator to prevent ballooning. When I go to MIXING and create a new mix activated by switch D for AUX2 to then add ELEVATOR down trim I do not see any movement on the elevator. What gives? What an I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can turn off safe. I suggest you do. Or switch to using aux 2 for flaps
