5 жыл бұрынA basic run down on how to change out the gears for optimal performance.
There are 6 gearing options available:
15T/22T (Stock): 1:1.47 Gear Ratio - Front axle goes same speed as rear
To change the gear ratio remove the cover on the side with the two shafts.
The following are the gear combinations of Rear Output to Front Output:
- 17T / 19T combo = 1:1.27 front axle will rotate 27% faster than rear
- 16T / 20T combo = 1:1.33 front axle will rotate 33% faster than rear
- 19T / 17T combo = 1:1.42 front axle will rotate 42% faster than rear
- 20T / 17T combo = 1:1.57 front axle will rotate 57% faster than rear
- 20T / 16T combo = 1:1.67 front axle will rotate 67% faster than rear

I think over driving the front hurts side hilling performance. I'm no pro but my understanding is ,poor going down hill , sliding on side hill angles , slight more wear on rear tires, and just a tad less battery life because of the bind that occurs. I would like to see a install on that box. I just did it in my diff cases

Finally, someone else who understands it's worth spending the money on good tools! lol These are great little videos, Mike, make sure Tom keeps you doing them. :D They'll bolt right in place of a stock hammer tcase, right?

I just got mine Checker number 27 put the middle shaft back in backwards so I had to take the back side off so I could get the 15 tooth gear off from the main side so I can switch out my gear ratios thanks Checker number 27.... also I was given the commercial invoice so I got to see what RC four-wheel-drive pays for these damn things why was I disappointed in what I paid for it

Thank you for the info, having a mechanics back ground, I noticed a lot of noise coming from the transfer case, and just for a second it looked like the gear mesh was pretty tight, what percentage do you use for you gear mesh? Just looking for ways to make the RC crawlers a little quieter..

Can it be geared to connect the tranny to the "front output shaft" to have the rear driveshaft in line and the front to the side? With equal speed/rotation?
