My passion for CRT TVs doesn't allow me to just drive by units that are tossed to the curb the day before trash day, so I picked up this RCA F27442 unit and see what's going on with it! Tested via RF signal from an NES console.

It's not crt apocalypse yet but time flies. Some are already giving out and many are being recycled. I imagine by 2030, they'll be more valuable than ever for retro gamers. Retro aesthetics is popular to the youth nowadays and i imagine many of them will fall in love with retro games like i did later in my life. Anyways i enjoyed this video. You're a great host and with nice music

I just got a huge RCA tv for free on CL. I needed help loading and unloading it. These 35" tv's are no joke. I plan on using my PS1 on it. Everything on it works fine. Even the remote is in good shape.
@Old_school022 жыл бұрын
Literally I'm not joking a couple weeks ago I picked up the same exact TV that you have for $8 at a garage sale and it's one of the best TVs I've ever had. Mine was in a little better condition than yours but I wish you good luck on yours

@@peco_de_guileI just purchased this TV. Do you know how I can put video games on the screen without the remote?
@peco_de_guile5 ай бұрын
@@Burns6688 I was not able to change the input to composite without the remote. I believe it is required. Or even if you use a Universal Remote, it should work.

I had that exact same model of RCA TV, that thing became possessed after about 6 years of use, it would randomly change channels, run the volume up or down and randomly turn itself on if it was off or off if it was on. I put up with it for about a year and finally set it out beside the road, it was gone before I got back upstairs and looked out the window.

I have 2 of the same tvs but GE branded. They are 27 inch. They were made in 2004. They both had a soldrr issue around where the coaxel cabel goes in. Ge and rca are both made by Thompson consumer electronicx. Me 2 ge tvs look identical to your RCA. The sound you hear when you plug it in is the degsusing circuit. Ad its cracked on the corner, but hey it works. I say dont scrap it, but offrr it for a cheap price on you local craigslist. Many reto gamers like tbe old crt tvs. The reason this was tossed was probably because it was not hdtv ready and was nit a flat screen. Great find though.

Oh if this guy could only drive around the whole neighborhood in Texas looking for something different than the RCA CRT TV! Why can't he drive around the neighborhood looking for the Incredible REALISTIC 20inch stereo TV in black from radio shack!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Incredible 16-253 from the 1990!

I found this model on the road and I went to replace the fuse and mixed up a 7a fuse with the 5a fuse and the whole thing buzzed and smoked. Do you think it’s completely dead or no?

Hello, can you tell me what are the benefits to holding on to a still having a larger 27 inch RCA CRT TV nowadays? Are there any advantages over the current flat screen smart TV's?
@peco_de_guile2 жыл бұрын
It is only a matter of preference and interest. Both types of TVs are great at serving their purposes. For me, I still enjoy playing retro games and watching VHS movies on a CRT because (in my opinion) the image is superior. Nostalgia is also a factor.
