This is a video showing my new primer pocket swaging tool. I like it so far with no complaints. Now I can start reloading brass with primer crimps.

Very good video, and probably the best I have seen on this subject.

No problems. The primers went in perfectly. Couldn't be more happy at this time.

I just purchased this rcbs for .223 ammo. Haven't used it yet, you explained everything very well. Thanks for the information.

same here! Just purchased this tool slightly used. Looks like a copy of Dillon Super Swage 600?

good looking tool!

I purchased this one before I purchased my Dillon super swager. With a lot of the military crimps, particularly 9mm, the rcbs swager would cause my bench to shift around due to left to right motion when operating it. The bushing that wrapped around the primer swage rod fell apart, and it made hellacious noise when in use. Dillon has a vertical motion of the operating handle and is MUCH easier to use.

In my experience the Dillon swages better. Puts a nicer bevel in.

I have one of these and I am about one swag away from tossing it into the canal behind my house. I bought it primarily to swag 5.56 pockets but find it does a poor job consistency wise. I swagged 50 FC 14 .223 cases and found it to do an inconsistent job. I finally bought a Lyman primer pocket reamer and moved on. I plan on getting a Lyman VLD chamfering tool to remove the crimps in the future. The VLD tool bit bottoms on the primer pocket, thus limiting how much "crimp" is shaved away.

Nice tool! It would definately speed things up. The Lake City is good brass to reload.

LOL, you use the same type containers to store brass as I do. Different brand of ice cream, but same style of bucket. Handy aren't they?? Nice video, Thanks!!

Very nice. I have the rcbs die system swager. Yours looks faster.

I thought I was the only one to use ice cream buckets for brass storage.

Thanks for this! I'm in the market, and am comparing the RCBS bench mount against the Dillon super swager 600. They both seem to do the same job. But the Dillon looks to be about $20.00 more expensive (compared to Midway's price on the RCBS). Once you de-crimped the brass with the RCBS tool, did you have any difficulty getting the primer seated? Any hiccups at all? Thanks again.

I own this swaging tool. I notice, even with identical 9mm brass, in this case WCC, I have to muscle it to remove the crimp, just to guarantee that the crimp is crushed for all the brass of the same batch. Otherwise if I don't, maybe 15% of them will still have enough crimp to mess up a primer install. Have you noticed the same? Due to the small handle, it can get tiring after a while being aggressive. So I am thinking of switching to the primer pocket swager die set for the single stage press since that has better leverage.

Are you still using this swager? I've just used the die version and managed to bend the crap out of the smaller rod after only 300 cases. Busy now trying to get a replacement from RCBS :/

Do you have any issues with scuffing you knuckles between the swage tool handle and your bench top? Thinking a wedge shaped shim between the two would help if you say it is an issue. I'm on the fence between this one and the Dillion because of the handle configurations.

You don't have to mount it directly to the bench. If you are worried about knuckle scuffage, mount it on something that will elevate it above the bench.

Do you have to chamfer pocket after for primer to go in smoothly. Thank you for the video

I just chamfer all of them. I don't ever swage it. Done it for tens of thousands of rounds this way. Never had any real issues.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!
