In a Rap Battle a battler generally creates bars using references from our day to day life incidents. A battler may talk about a political scam, general scam, recent/old crime, may talk about crime against women etc. etc. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE PROMOTING IT, A PERSON WITH AN IQ BELOW AVG. WILL ALWAYS THINK THAT THEY ARE PROMOTING GUN CULTURE, GANG CULTURE, CRIME AGAINST WOMEN YA POLITICAL AGENDAS KO HAWA DE RAHE HAIN BUT NAAH. IF YOU TRY TO UNDERSTAND THEIR BARS YOU WILL REALISE THAT INSTEAD OF PROMOTING THEY ARE ACTUALLY SPREADING AWARENESS ABOUT THE SOCIAL ISSUES WE ALL ARE HAVING AROUND US OR WE ALL HAVE HAD IN THE PAST.
Rap battle is a mirror image of our society it tells us about the environment we live in. Do we need to get better/are we safe/what kind of threats we have around us. A GOOD BATTLER talks about all this in general. it is just that instead of saying directly that we need to do something about all these issues, battlers use irony and try to mimic the exact incident with words/writing to make us realize how horrific the incident was.
