Thanks so much for the vid. With the Element Gatekeeper or Utron hitting the same pricepoint but not being a comp crawler style, would you expect this to blow them out of the water? I think redcat has been firing on all cylinders lately from the lowriders, to the machete, to the COE truck and these comp style crawlers! Kudos to them honestly because these projects I'm sure started like 2-3 years in the making meaning they made all the right moves to make it happen at the right times too! Even for redcat detractors its hard to argue with Lcg chassis Decent servo Metal links Bearings Alternate gears Workable radio Half decent tires Decent shocks (in dire need of tuning) Decent axles For $299. I started with a gen 7, if i was starting over I'd get this.

Almost bought a Gen9 during the sale a couple weeks ago but decided to wait and see what was coming. I think this one will be my next purchase.

I heard redcat say the storage compartment was for extra body pins, wheel nuts, some screws, maybe for 1 of the thousands of little metal wheel tees we all have Impressive rig none the less

Redcat has a ways to go before they compete with the likes of Axial, Vanquish and Traxxas. Still, a solid performer out of the box and it has tons of potential. A Fusion SE and good tires/wheels being first on the list! Redcat is really making some headway! 👍

Even though this is a LCG, I think it will work well with the hard bodies with interiors (like the Injora bodies). That low transfer case will really make fitting hard bodies low enough to look good. I plan on getting one just for that reason.

You can very easily improve performance by removing the internal springs. way more travel, more sag, and much much less stiff

Thanks for the in depth review Francis! Seems like maybe it is lower* CG, not truck LCG comp truck. Looks like some good tires, front brass, 1080 ESC, and it should be a decent performer?

If you mentioned the Axial Pro and the extra cast, the Pro is the one you should've compared to the Redcat.

I tried to order that Redcat Ascent today and had a truly HORRIBLE experience with Redcat's customer service that resulted in me canceling the order and telling them where to go. No apologies from them, no nothing. Awful experience. I will NEVER own a Redcat product after this.

You are basically buying a roller at that price.

We need to all shift to redcat team associated or axial or rc4wd and sale our stuff from traxxas stop buying traxxas show them a clear message that we own the hobby not them!

This truck is a pice of junk the amount of money that you have to spend to make it work the right way you’re spending a shit load of money and it still won’t fix the bad engineering do not buy unless you like spending a lot of money for nothing JUNK.

While the price is cool in this hobby you get what you pay for. Durability will be an issue.
