Re-Assembling The Free Fast Food Playground Structure! (Playland Part 3)

After picking up a free indoor playland from a closed restaurant over the winter, we've finally started re-assembling it out in the woods of Wisconsin! Because what could be better than a remote, off-grid, sustainable fast food playplace?
We've checked the original manual and specs on this, and we think it's going to be UV resistant and last for a good long time outside. Of course, there might be a few critters moving in! As we see in a side visit to the Sandland Monorail / Mouse Nursery, any artificial structures out here are an instant draw to wildlife!
This one also features some nice drone shots of Sandland in the fall!

you should build a roof over it in oerder to make shure its wont rot and i would recomend closing the entrances up to the play land if it isnt in use ...

The plastic is supposedly UV-stabilized, and the metal parts are coated, so we're hoping it will last outside. I've seen the same stuff from the same manufacturer installed in outdoor playgrounds so it's definitely designed for that. We'll probably still have problems with racoons getting into it, very hard to keep those out!

Those are modular ! Put it together any way you want it , it don’t Need to be exactly like it was in McDonald’s !

We've already started deviating from the original design a bit. It will be interesting to see how much we can get back together!

I probably would have made a tall observation tower from the playland parts. 😁

We've talked about making a huge tower. The playland will be pretty tall when it's finished and it's made from pretty standard pipes, so we could theoretically expand it!

The mice love enclosed spaces like the monorail and any human structures. They even go all the way down in the tunnels!

I'll be out there more this winter digging more Sand Bar and whatnot. Summer has been pretty busy with other activities!

How close to the Hudson River Falls area is that? I went to school in hudson ,this looks like a place we might have had a few keggers at back in the day.

Shouldn't have poured a foundation. That way as long as it was under 40 feet tall the Heimlich County building inspector would have been powerless to stop you.

How do you intend to keep the plastic from degrading from UV?

He said in the comments for a previous playland video, the whole thing was designed to be assembled and used outside, and the plastic is already treated to be UV resistant, according to the manufacturer.

@@Kineth1 I can attest that even "UV resistant" plastic is not. After a few years it will get chalky and start to degrade. When this happens, it seems that the only thing that will being the plastic back to color is a high heat source.

Supposedly these are outdoor rated (per the manufacturer), and some were installed outside in places like California. Guess we'll find out how true that is!

@@saveitforparts The ones I saw in SoCal always seemed to be under some sort of sun screen, however, since you're only into the project a "few hours" of time, and didn't have to buy the things, it's still a great deal, and should be a lot of fun.

We're still working on it slowly, it's a lot more work to re-assemble than to take it down!

How much puke did you wind up cleaning out of it?

It was mostly fossil french fries and spare change. We did find a gift card and someone on Reddit said they loaded it with $$ and left it there, but I think we threw it away :-(
