Did the same thing with my Ferris stand on by repurposing the rubber on the discharge chute. It had the opening in the back where it curves, like the Scag, and it would cover me with grass. Had to do some more modifications to bend the rubber and make sure it all tight against the discharge, now it works great. Mine is manual though so I have to stop to open and close it when I need it, but I’m a homeowner so it’s not a big deal.

Looks like a winner. Ours is a little bent up and a bit loose so going to for sure swapping out the bolts for the one long one. Thanks for the info

I think it’s a great idea!! I took your advice and bought a power chute for my ZK last year and beat the hell out of it. I’ve fixed it I don’t know how many times and it sucks. If Alex don’t start making a kit for replacements or making them at all maybe you should start doing retro fits for guys. 👍👍 I think I’ll try it on mine.

Great idea. The only reason I didn’t buy these was because I worried about having to fix the metal over time from using it.

It's probably tighter because the rubber is thicker than the metal alone...Nice improvement!...Maybe I'll go back to power chute...The motor faced the other way back when I used them and they keep breaking going under bush's and stuff. Thanks...
@CountrysideStrong
@CountrysideStrong Жыл бұрын
Possibly, i think it’s because it doesn’t have all the play the (2) separate bolts had. You can move the motors in 2 different positions depending what works best for the mower room wise.

Green Guard is my go to chute blocker. Price is great for an electric powered chute. Their no drill magnetic kit keeps damage at a minimal, if your hit something hard the chute will release from the deck with minimal damage.
@CountrysideStrong
@CountrysideStrong Жыл бұрын
They keep having recalls on their motors which is a concern for me and also the motor constantly rotating is no good either. I’ll stick with power chute. Gotta go with whatever works best for your needs

😂 I have that too, a dusty collection of angled grass deflectors....and brand new trimmer guards. I need to put them on marketplace or craigslist.

I'm thinking the flap holds tighter because the rubber allows a little more flex for that arm mount in the triangular area to push a little tighter. Hopefully that doesn't push the flap too close to the blades while engaged.

One slight mod idea, maybe cut an inch off the front of the bracket (kinda where you have the first nut). i feel like youll still hit the bracket with stuff occasionally. and i think the brand is green guard. I messaged with the guy seems nice, i just couldn't justify 400$ for a shootblocker, i have a manual one.

It is the green guard. I just bought one for my vantage. Reason I went with the green guard over power chute is the rubber flap and the fact that there is no arm that sticks over the plate when it's closed.
