This collaboration between students and faculty from the Desautels Faculty of Music and School of Art paired the UM Percussion Ensemble with visual and performance artist Frankie May, who took inspirtation from the musical score of A Fragment of a Fragment (Jon Crabiel) performed by the students as he created the first visual work of the program. This work was then re-imagined as a graphic score and represented in sound by the UM eXperimental Improv Ensemble (XIE) in the second section. Finally, all of the musicians and a group of visual artists came together to perform the final section as a live improvisation, taking inspiration one from the other to create the final portion of the program.
