I think what's missing is honor. Having a sense of honor, some morals, ethics, & especially common courtesy. While I do agree that sometimes a good ass beating is what's needed in some cases, it's not the answer to all problems. I got tormented for the longest time & as soon as I started fighting back, it eventually stopped happening as kids didn't want to get their asses handed to them by the "long haired hippy wuss" they called me. Name calling is nothing, nor is talking s*** bcuz you can always put them in their place with witty remarks, but when they start putting hands on you & getting physical, then you have a right to defend yourself. That's the only time it's ok to beat someone's ass, when there's no other choice, the teachers didn't do anything when you go to them for help, but they sure as hell are going to cover their asses when they call your parents in for fighting & they say, "Why didn't you come to us sooner & tell us there's a problem?", & you say, "I did, remember? You told me they were just being kids. Well, I was just defending myself from your favorite pet sports stars!" I can only imagine how many other kids went through that same scenario as I did. Only weak minded ppl get so butt hurt about words that they throw the first punch. Being a man is knowing when to walk away & when to fight back. There is no honor in beating ppl up for words or what they think, bcuz who cares what other ppl think! Only the weak minded & insecure worry about what others think of them. Kids these days are brought up a lot differently & that's likely why there's going to be a whole generation of man-child & women-child mentalities of "boohoo, woes me, me me me", but hopefully it won't be the case & honor & common courtesy will make a comeback. Only time will tell!

There's not anything to do. Don't even apologize. I am 16, anyhow, Age doesn't necessarily define ones behaviour. Parenting has changed, and many things have changed. People seem to have easier access to babling, having their opinions, which they are way too happy to express, without really being punished either :p
