Alan seems pretty charming outside of the Reacher role. Especially in his interviews and social media videos.

I believe he would fit perfectly specifically bc how James Gunn writes his characters. He’s proven he can play a serious, action, dark role with reacher and when he was in titans. Also, bc of the, every so often humor in the dialogue of James Gunn characters, Alan would be able to nail those humorous parts. He played Thad castle who was an over the top hilarious character and so he knows how to deliver comedic lines. So he can do the dark, he can do the serious and he can deliver the humor. Not to mention he’s exactly the size of how Batman is depicted in the comments and he can fulfill action scenes bc he’s done them for dc and now as reacher. I say give him a chance, see what happens. He doesn’t have to be the best Bruce Wayne bc who prefers an awesome Bruce Wayne, people want to see Batman. Bruce Wayne is really the alter ego and Batman is the main character for that character.

If you saw Ritchson in Blue Mountain State then you know he definitely has range, Thad Castle is definitely not Bruce Wayne but he can be much more than just a stoic character

Even as Reacher he didn’t just have the intimidation factor, the physicality and the fighting capability, but he was also able to reach borderline Sherlock Holmes level detective work. Which that is a major trait of Batman we haven’t seen until the latest Batman movie. The Bruce Wayne part should be easy for him I’m sure.

Alan Ritchson would do a stand up job. He was incredible in Titans too. I think he can pull off a great Bruce Wayne. I also feel Jensen Ackles would be amazing in the role. I think he has that playboy persona down to a T for sure.

Here's the thing. They want to know if Ritchson can be Bruce Wayne the Ladies Man. How many minutes is that in the movie. 30 seconds or 45 seconds in the Nolan Trilogy. So they are getting all hung up on something that happens for less than a minute.

I think he could be a really good Aquaman. But Batman traditionally has always been a well known actor at their peak or reaching their peak. The caped crusader requires a top tier actor at the top of their game. I'm sure Alan ritchson is a pretty good actor but he hasn't shown the capability required to take on this big of a responsibility. I would ask Jake Gyllenhaal to play Batman, I was pretty convinced after watching his absolutely phenomenal performance in Night Crawler. Plus he's pretty ripped now as well and is in the age range Gunn would want. I think he can enter the Bruce Wayne/Batman psychosis pretty easily. He did something similar in Villaneuve's Enemy, another phenomenonal performance. I would go for him and then look at others if he refuses.

I like Ritchson. He's great in Reacher. I've liked him since Blue Mountain State. But, I don't think he has the acting chops to play a serious DCU role. I wouldn't be mad about it, depending on the tone of the film. But, I think they can do better.

I dont really care what Batman looks like but one quality that each actor possesed when playing the Dark Knight was to look absolutely haunted and charismatic at the same time. Ben channeled his inner demons quite well to portray a rage filled and broken Bat, but still maintained a slightly cocky and smirky persona. Pattinson with his gaunt, reclusive appearance played a Batman with his emotions not yet mastered, however he also seemed almost mysterious and alluring at the same time. Bale played a Bat so hurt, so pushed to his limit, who almost lost everything but still remained earnest to his mission, a childlike glee visible in him as he prepared to take on another enemy. I'm not getting that from Alan yet. But i think he is charismatic naturally and could fit really well into the new DC as the arthur curry/aquaman. Strong, resolute but also charmingly funny.

I said the exact opposite of Affleck, who became my favorite Batman yet. I didn’t think affleck could pull Batman fear-of-god when enters a room. Bruce I thought he had nailed. Alan has the range. Look back to his days as aquaman on smallville, check his comedy chops in blue state and Turkey Bowl. Look at his character in Titans. Even check out The Wedding Ringer. I think he even has teenage kids. He’s in his 40’s. I’d love to see him suit up, either business or bat, and take on Gotham.

Sometimes you two really just out-think yourselves. Good points but if you did about 5 min of research you would know 1- Alan has an 11 year old kid 2-He has the charm naturally Reacher is the complete opposite of his personality. He is light hearted and loose in real life so he already can do the split personalities. If the writing was good Alan could be the best Batman we have ever had.

Never understood the age issue and wanting Batman to be in his 40s. If you take Grant Morrison’s canon of Batman’s history, Bruce became Batman around age 20. He could’ve impregnated Talia around that same time (or even before that while he was traveling the world and training to become Batman), and now in present day DCU, Bruce is 32 and has an 11-12 year old son, Damien. You gotta cast someone in their 30s so we can get longevity with the character in the DCU for like 10-15 years.

Could definitely see him as a Batdad version of the character from “Batman: The Animated Series” where he was an earnest and pretty functional guy out of costume. Still had some very affecting moments grappling with his demons. Old enough to be a veteran Batman, but spry enough to be opposite Corenswet, and could convincingly do flashbacks. I don’t want to miss all the greatest moments from Batman’s career again!

Loved that you referred to him as Aquaman. That's where I first seen him. I've watched him in a few things since. Most recently Titans. haven't really given Reacher a shot yet. I don't see him as a leading man. You bring up the Ministry trailer. The trailers I've seen he hasn't had one speaking line in which is usual a tell tale sign. He has a movie coming out in a week with Hilary Swank where he plays the second lead called Ordinary Angels ironicially directed by "Jon Gunn" but it looks like a higher budget Lifetime film and didn't draw me in at all.

Missing the elephant in the room which is he pretty much played Batman in the Titans TV series!! Also 2 things the 'can he play Bruce Wayne' & 'can he carry a movie'. As much as I loved Patterson in The Batman his Bruce Wayne sucked and that was still fantastic. And the guy cast to play Superman has never carried a movie and I'd argue is far lesser known.

I only watched BMS for the first time 3 weeks ago, and I binged it. I was in stitches laughing, and it was mainly due to Thad Castle (Alan's character). Thad is the polar opposite to Reacher. Great acting range. Alan's also already played alongside Robin in Titans as Hawk, which also had Bruce Wayne in the show. He has an 11 year old son, first of 3 boys. They really need to do their research before posting.

This is one of those fan castings I wasn’t behind and didn’t like a few years ago until recently when I got caught up on ‘Reacher’ that’s what’s convinced me he’s more than capable to do it. The only thing I think would hold him back would possibly be his Bruce Wayne and his “bat voice” but even reacher has shown his Bruce Wayne would be cool. Even his character hawk in titans was my favourite in that show too. And I think a great director can elevate him, maybe someone like chad stahelski who did the John wick franchise and those movies and characters aren’t talkers and that works great and gets emotion out of them all.

First of all I was the first one to say he should be Batman I have the proof. 2nd He's Perfect for the part ...Bar scene in reacher Him steping out that window after pushing someone out of it...come on if thats not Batman I dodnt know what is. Bruce Wayne: Reacher is Bruce when dealing with his friends.

I’d be prepare to give him a chance. As batman, he’s nailed it. But Bruce? I don’t know… but I think he’s impressed recently in his current roles and deserves a break-out role in the movies.

Well Alan was just on Tonight with Jimmy Fallon promoting a movie he just appeared in alongside Hillary Swank. Called Ordinary Angels and I seen short scene where Alan was able to demonstrate some emotional turmoil and it believable. I did believe what he was doing in that small scene. So he’s definitely getting better in the acting, he’s improved a lot from his early days being aquaman or Thad.
