my own issue with chimes is that the deepwoken balancing people consist of absolute idiots who glaze attunments and basically rewards spammers for being losers

I'm not sure if the wisp heal actually increases significantly on hitting multiple targets. I tested it immediately on multiple different groupings of mobs, and it seems to have inverse scaling, I don't know why it wouldn't be like this on players.

honestly on top of all this it just feels like they only ever do PVP changes or additions in the updates. It’s always just talent reworks, new mantras, mantra reworks, new attunement paths etc etc. The thing that really annoys me about deepwoken now is just… when was the last time they actually added onto the world? In deepwokens 2 year history, it feels like they’ve hardly ever added any new islands, new monsters, new bosses, new random encounters, or new quests even. The only time they’ve added anything like that was in verse 2, which was a year ago. It feels like there’s still so much potential for adding to the game yet they focus on purely just combat.

5:36 I honestly agree. I mean, they have made lots of QoL changes to increase progression speed, but it still takes so long. Also, "6-8 hours" is an understatement. As a solo player, it takes me 15-20 hours of ingame time or around 3-5 days of playing deep to truly minmax a build. From grinding for the master armor, all the way to farming ethiron for medallions, it takes so damn long to get the build I want. At times, I quit half way cause it turns out, my build got nerfed/other builds are much better, other times its because I'm trying to minmax too hard and I get burnt out (grinding for medallions and best possible equipment is hell on earth). So far, I haven't played deep for 3 months now, and I'll comeback possibly for conquest or the new world events. Until then, I hope deep gets a lot better in terms of overall quality of life.

Another diverse thing that they just absolutely gutted was True ether bullets. That talent let you proc elemental effects on your gun m1s if you used ether bullets. This let you synergize with your attunement so much more on gun builds without going a legendary weapon, but leg weps have unique abilities and save points so the trade off is still there. It got gutted literally because lava serpent didn’t have a cooldown back then. And now what are guns in the meta? They’re projectile spamming passive weapons focused on cheesing out your opponent. Before they used to let you choose a diverse set of attunement builds that relied on m1s.

I think shifting the meta every week is good but if there's only one meta and everything else is bad then that's bad

Honestly, flame is pretty good I don’t know if top 3 material, but the mantras, talents and oath (arcwarder) are all good. I would definitely make buffing attunementless a priority, not any other attunement. I really like your suggestions, but I do think that in a game like deepwoken, there will always be attunements superior to the others. We just have to try to limit how superior they are.

the issue with flame in my opinion is the talents that make your enemy explode aswell as eruption and the amount of particle effects it lets out compared to something like gale, why would you go gale or ironsing if you could just go thunder or flamecharm and preform better. Also werent attunements made for specific playstyles? rn it just feels like thunder does it all

Honestly just shame on them for repeatedly copying basic mantras repeatedly from Flamecharm like Flame Grab and Fire Blade and giving every attunement it's variant. If the attunements were more vastly different then the meta wouldn't settle so quickly.

nobody really knows this yet but Lava serpent path got a massive nerf with the wisp change. you have to actually land the Lava and the dmg from the lava blast is what heals you. like bruh even with a deepfire ring it's hard to actually land the eruption and the dmg from that is so low that you practically don't heal anything at all

Silentheart needs a crazy rework, as right now my silentheart build is genuinely horrible against mage builds as i cant do anything against mantra spammers. Mani Katti isnt landable against anyone with a working neuron in their brain with everyone having tapdancer, and ankle cutter is the most predictable thing in the game. People who say silentheart is boosted have either never tried using it against a mage build or are just salty they lost. Please buff silentheart my beloved 🙏

Although I do disagree with the takes that flamecharm had nothing besides flame wisp. There is one thing that I actually believe determines how strong an attunement is. And that is something that I call mantra consistencies; whether or not a mantra is consistent and will perform its intended use. Basically if a mantra can be thrown out with little to no consequences with the reward being high. Of course attunements are buffed up by their respective talents but overall their performance is determined by the mantras they use. For example thundercall, thundercall's talents are arguably some of the worst in the game (outside of surge) yet still manages to be good. That's because Thundercall has the most consistent mantras in the game, those being: storm blades/storm cage, jolt grab, rising thunder, lightning clones (static clones), electro carve, lightning stream, and lightning cloak. All of those mantras are very consistent and will usually land a reward for the user in some way. That was seven mantras in counting, the most in the game. But it still doesn't make Thundercall the best in the game, as that title now goes to shadowcast. With dark blade, shade bringer, shadow eruption, shadow chains, rising shadow, and shadow gun all being consistent mantras. But what makes shadowcast the best if it has less consistency than thundercall, it's simple: the talents. As I have said before the talents buff their attunements but not as much as their mantras. That is true, however majority of shadowcast talents proc on mantras; making the two synonymous with each other. Now to make things short in conclusion attunement viability is dependent on mantra viability. Now there is an extra factors where attunements become better than the rest depending on how long a gank is. Such as Shadowcast because of ether sustain, Flamecharm because of health sustain, and Scrapsinger because of its armor drain. I won't count Galebreathe because its mobility is what carries it in ganks, and with conquest coming out soon that mobility will likely be nerfed.

flame charm in no way is terrible without flame wisp u get burning servants which prior to the update was a 30 posture move that was semi-instant with 3 rush 3 drift, flame blade which is a gb and flaming scourge, and not to mention the damage + healing that comes along with it.

i think flame wisp would be best if it only healed some of the damage you take from flames

This is honestly true, I hate to be "that" guy, but the amount of times I see a mod in DW get their ass beat by something that is nichely good or has a unique mechanic only to see it gutted in the next balance patch (Detonation enforcer axe for example, I Never even used that myself but it was a unique way to make detonation more viable for heavy weapons), Then it gets gutted cuz it beat one of the mods in chime lol. Saying deepwoken promotes diverse builds in this day and age feels like a lie, Sure you can make something unique but it'll be garbage and trash to the meta thing, And if it DARES be decently good or you beat a mod with it, It'll get gutted and unusable.
