Thanks for the video, helped a lot. But I have one question, are you suppose to calculate the Molar mass with the balanced equation or not? Because at 6:54 when you wrote "40" I got confused as the balanced equation stated that the Molar mass was 80, and just NaOH was 40. Would be helpful if I got a bit of clarification.

The molar mass doesn't get changed by the big number in front. That number only gets used in the bottom row for the mole ratio :)

This is to kindly request you whether you can make a video regarding the properties of the useful elements needed to be studied for the IGCSE syllabus

ummm dont we make 32g of Magnesium Oxide because the molar mass of 2MgO is 64 and 0.5*64 is 32g? Dont you include the 2 Mg in the gram molecular mass?

sindhu katta - the big 2 in front tells you the ratio of how things react compared to each other. If you ignore the equation for a second and I gave you 20g of MgO then you’d tell me it was 0.5mols. (hopefully!) The big numbers in front only tell us the ratio between the things that are are reacting together - so we only use them on the bottom row :)
