Basically an Isekai where the mc is the villain and doesn’t fall into the typical tropes and works to take over the world unethically. Political and war drama with nation building with lots of different factions. Light novels are amazing but the show is also great for an anime.

so-bin (yes all lower case) art for the endings is still fire like no other. I think I've read interview with Maruyama (author of the books) where he expressed he couldn't be more lucky to get an artist like him to start making fan illustrations for his original web novels (think of them like prototype to what the novels turned into)

He is a skeleton in the most technical sense, but he's also not. He's something more terrifying. He is an Overlord, beyond an Elder Lich, which is an undead mage. Albedo is a virgin succubus(1st ED). She is named after the second phase of Alchemy. Her sisters are Nigredo and Rubedo, the first and third phase respectively. Their creator was called Tabula Smargdina or Emerald Tablet in Latin. It was the legendary artifact upon which the principles of Alchemy were transcribed by Thoth himself.

ikr? most people like OP3/ED3 more, but as for me I like ED2 the best out of all of them so far. That melancholic and heavy rhythm coupled with Myth&Roid's powerful vocals just hits different.

Well, PDL is really fucking strong. His armor alone was Level 90+, and he's currently stronger than Cure Elim, who was Level 95 with the best racial skills you could get. So yeah, he's probably in the realm of the 96 - 100, EASILY in his real body.

Overlord is one of the few anime series I know that simply doesn't have a bad song, whether it is the opening or the ending. And waifu-wise, it's also amazing, and I think you understood that just by looking at Albedo (The dark-haired girl with the white dress and white horns). Also, I'm really impressed by the accuracy of your guesses.

I like how they kept the same singers for each opening and ending but for the third one they switch them both so the person that usually does the ending does the opening and the person that does the opening does the ending but the fourth one sadly doesn’t have the same person that does the ending

My favourite opening by far is op4 wit its rather Spanish vibes? Honestly makes me wanna dance haha. My fave ending is Ed 3, feels most melancholic. What separates Overlord from other isekai, especially Slime, is that while yes its an overpowered fantasy, it puts in a lot of rational thought, planning and world building. Slime ended up being too insert fantasy for me, whereas Overlord really had all the world, nations and characters carefully set up and you can feel that they had years of history. I love the light novel for all of its overblown details for it.

this is a Novel about characters and how others react to the MC. a dark fantasy not a action show you will read about death. and kinda detailed. examples: how leftovers of a brain and the fluid around it are on a shoe after stomping a guy. one novel had at least 4 short scenes of people of their last thoughts (and despair) before combusting I love this Anime and the Novel

You should really watch the Anime. It's concept was actually quite unique as basically, instead of following the story of the hero, in this one you will be following the story directly on the perspective of the BBEG and his Subordinates.

@@sugarysweetness9751 well, the English of the singer back then was not optimal, she knew the language but the accent was noticeable. I heard Japanese fans back then liked that "broken" english more than proper English, but that was some years ago. The same singer sang the 4th Ending and her English now is superb, she is able to flawlessly switch between English and Japanese without problems.
