Yes, that was her Grandmother… the one responsible for introducing Angelina to jazz when she was about two years old. Angelina has said of her Grandma: She’s my “inspiration”, my “best friend”, my “everything.” Thanks Britt for another wonderful reaction. Britt, now for your personal enjoyment, watch her sing this to perfection a cappella no less on Norway's Got Talent as a tiny little girl. It was my introduction to Angelina two years ago and I've listen to her everyday since. I can't help but think of the golden era of Hollywood when I see this particular performance. Angelina's voice is timeless. Your the best Britt, love your insight.

@@brittreacts that is her grandmother Mery Zimanni (I'm sure I screwed that spelling up). She is the widow of who's husband million miles was written. She is a world renowned painter, who has also stirred the world with her poetry. The outfit Angelina wore on her bohemian rhapsody is a printed fabric of one of her masterpieces that she and AJ made together. She and AJ did the artwork for the million miles lyric video together. It is her antique shop where they filmed AJs newer cover of I have nothing, my funny valentine, and suspicious minds. She is also in the beginning of one of AJs Adele covers, and most recent visualizer video for love don't let me go getting in that speedster with her for the ride. She is at least partially responsible for AJs education in jazz and recognition of her artistic prowess from a very early age. Without Mery there would be no barefoot princess.

Yes, Angelina first performed this song a cappela, when she had just turned 8, the judges cut performance in NGT. In the Netflix show she was still 8! Here at the grand old age of 11 she takes the song to another level for the album It's Magic. The interaction you see with her grandma has always been the same, from when she was 6 years old. You have to consider here that this recording was on grandma's camcorder, as raw as you can get. To me that is the sign of a great artist, no need for post production, no fancy gimmicks.

Yes Britt that was Angelina’s Grandma who is involved with production and is responsible for introducing Angelina to Jazz, and has always been Angelina’s biggest inspiration and influence, Angelina’s grandmother is Iranian and also a talented artist and poet, and today is often in the studio involved with production, great reaction thanks 🙏

e pluribus u-num With all the gimmicks that are used in what is known as music today it is so refreshing to come across a being that does not need auto tune, lightshows, dancers, outrageous costumes, bands, or orchestras to cover their weaknesses because she has none. AJ can perform a Capella, or with one or two instruments to follow her lead and give you chills with each performance. I have always enjoyed all genres of music, and being 75, I have experienced the best the industry has to offer, from the early 50s, to 2023, but I have never been moved emotionally in the past anywhere close to what Angelina Jordan does from 7 to 17. When I heard Celine Dion perform in a tint in Québec when she was a child, I predicted she would be the next world superstar, and the rest is history. Celine did not sign a record contract until she was in her early 20s. David Foster, who made Celine a star flew to Norway after Angelina wone NGT and tried to sign her, but her family wanted to stay in control of her future. Angelina, at 13, appeared on AGT and getting worldwide recognition signed with the largest record company in the world at age 14, Republic Records. The story is that Monty Lipman, the CEO, and known as the Star Maker, personally signed her even without meeting AJ, he was shown a video of her performance. Angelina Jordan will be the next Super Nova very soon. As for being her biggest fan, e pluribus u-num.

You can really hear it in this song with her added vibrato at the end of her phrases , It almost seems like the spirit of Billie has entered her body from the facial expressions she is making when singing..

This the recording session for her album, It's Magic, which you saw the cover of slide across the screen. She was 11 years old here. I think this is one of her masterpieces. Grandma Meri in the background there recording this on her phone and giving support. Angelina looks happy with the result!

Angelina and grandma Mery, might be like one soul in two bodies, so agreeing that things are OK, is like vital to Angelina. 👍👍 She sure loves and trust her grandma. Angelina DID have quite a few great studio sessions at about 6 - 8 years old. THAT really paid off as she here at 11, was invited in on the record project for this "It`s Magic" album. She was invited to collaborate for The Norwegian Military Staff Band`s 200 years aniversary celebrating project, as they planed for an album and a grand consert at the major force castle of Oslo,, Akershus Festning. This magic album is my top album ever, and it is like my top playlist for use several times every week. Soon to be acompanied with Angelinas next album "More Magic" 😃 And when her third comes up, "Even More Magic", I will almost not be in need for any others, to keep my spirit and currage alive, I guess. 👣

Hello Britt 👋. What a great reaction to 11 Angie. She was 11 recording for her album "It's Magic" (great album too). What's trippy is that she was reading the words as she was recording the song 🎵. I mean who does that or who could do that and still emote the song. You might want to react to just her 2nd performance of NGT when she was 7 for the judges cut. She sings a capella. Angelina has stated, flat out, that 'There would be no Angelina if not for Billie Holiday. This rendition gives the listener a chance to hear Angelina replicate many of the inflections, nuance, and numerous other facets of the improvisational style of singing that Billie did to redefine the jazz genre. No mentors to refer to, this poor, young Black girl who went to singing in Harlem night clubs, was doing something no other singer was capable of replicating. Angelina places Billie on the highest point of the pedestal, over all of the other gifted singers she has ever experienced and only when you listen to Billie's catalog of songs, will you be better able to understand Angelina's words about Billie. Imagine when Angelina first heard 'Strange Fruit' by Billie, which dealt with her seeing human beings 'lynched' and hanging like fruit from a tree, and you can begin to understand where Billie's singing derives from.

There are people who can sing, There are artists who can perform, And they're actually high level very good singers. But there are very few maybe a handful of individuals whose voice is an instrument, And AJ is one When it's all said and done I think she'll be remembered, As one of Is the all time great👍..... You heard her sing it, I believe, on Norway's Got Talent .. she sang it acapella. In this rehearsal, she has a crown of crazy leaves and is fooling around with Grandma Mery on the camera. She is by no means checking for approval .. they are playing. In spite of the fooling around, the vocals are amazing .. exquisite. You probably know that Grandma Mery was her videographer most of her life until she signed with Republic, I guess ... There is another rehearsal in this same studio where she is making fun of her uncle .. she and grandma are precious when they play around. Please please Britt .. do a reaction of LOVE DON'T LET ME GO. It dropped yesterday, May 5. It is a hugely important move in her life .. first of all its an original .. and secondly it is her first actual professional video (they're calling it a "Visualizer" .. I'm not sure what that means yet .. do you? Please react to it. I would be surprised if Angelina is not looking for your reaction .. Guess what? I'm a man from Texas and a product of the glorious 70's......AND a very HUGE fan of Angelina Jordan. Been following her for several years now......have watched practically everything available online of her. Oh, and that album that flashed up there... This song is one of the many reasons that, that particular Album is number 11 in best selling jazz albums. And if her new album makes headway, it could climb even higher in the future. (and it will of course.) :)

Here's a suggestion that showcases Angelina's genius. You've already seen a part of her a cappella performance "I'm a fool to want you" from Norway's got talent, but the one you've seen was only half of it, they shortened it. She sang so perfectly in tune that nobody notices the cut. Here's the full version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gr6boa-LqdW2hoU.html Now, as I've said already, she sang perfectly in tune. Somebody proved it in this wonderful mix of Angelina's vocals and the instrumental. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZrxmrJt_25vZgqM.html It would be a mindblowing revelation for many viewers if you compared the two videos in a reaction video, first the a cappella performance, then the mix (vocal+instrumental). Just as an idea.
