Babymetal exploded on youtube with a viral video (of the 100 million+ views sort) about ten years ago, I saw it at that time and thought it was really fun and cool but it didn't stick with me to continue with them. A couple of years ago this exact video you watched popped up in my feed, I watched it and was instantly and completely hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your jaw drop, it reminded me of my first watch of this as well. They will surprise you every time. Sometimes because its so cute. Sometimes because its so metal. Sometimes because its so insane. But it's always good, and often spectacular music. They deserve every one of their thirty+ awards for best (band, live show, metal, female led band, etc) since they started, just a phenomenal band in every way - where the more you watch and listen the more you want to. A few examples to consider, if you feel like it! BabyMetal - Headbanger Live Legend 1997 (Legend 1997 refers to lead singer Su-Metal birthyear, this concert is her 16th birthday, its great) Babymetal - Akatsuki「紅月 -アカツキ-」| LIVE at Budokan Black Night (Su-Metal solo) Babymetal - MEGITSUNE「メギツネ」(Five Fox Festival ver.) --- (note this particular version has "red fox festival live" audio, it was a one night concert for women/girls only, the song has a strong theme of women empowerment, its brilliant to listen to the audience interaction parts) there are dozens of others, and versions of each, that are wonderful as well. I hope you continue, look forward to seeing more!

There are plenty of regular Japanese metal bands. This is intentionally a blend of Japanese Idol and Metal. It's not accidental. Babymetal was the first to do it. They actually started as a subunit of an Idol Group called Sakura Gakuin and briefly performed at Idol Shows in the very beginning. But Babymetal was much more popular than the 'main' group from the very start. Babymetal didn't become officially independent until April 2013 but they were already doing their own concerts.

This show was at the Saitama Super Arena on 10th of january 2015, almost nine years ago 😅. SU-METAL, aka Suzuka Nakamoto, is indeed a powerful singer, incredible stage presence, the other two girls are MOAMETAL, Moa Kikuchi, the one with dimples, and YUIMETAL, aka Yui Mizuno (here the serious one), who unfortunately left the group few years ago. You're correct, their genre is Kawaii Metal, they invented it, though there are other groups now, not that many indeed. BABYMETAL are really unique for many reasons, their story is quite fascinating, you can find tons of stuff related, but watch out for spoilers. As many probably suggested, if you're interested in their music, always look for their live performances, though the official KARATE MV is still cool. Sorry to be that guy, but BABYMETAL have been in Italy only two times, in 2015 in Bologna and... las week in Milan 😱, great show BTW 🔥🤩🔥 spettacolo. But they're going to be in Rome this summer, though as part of a festival. Buona visione 😊👍 🤘🦊⚡️

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊The whole concept was formed and developed around lead vocalist Su-metal's vocal talents (yes she was a JPop Idol singer, but she is anything but 'generic', she is so much more - she is incredibly talented and versatile and masters so many different vocal styles in their different songs) and all 3 girls' stage presence ... even though they were still only 12 and 11 when BABYMETAL was formed. Su-metal is the lead vocalist, Yuimetal and Moametal provide backing vocals, harmonies and are key to what makes BABYMETAL original and unique - don't expect them to be or to do the same as any other group, so they may not sing as much (Yui and Moa did have their own songs as a duo called Black BABYMETAL), but they are very important - they provide the link between the band and the audience. They are the ones who hype the crowd, get everybody involved and joining in, give the crowd their cues when to jump, shout, sing along etc. On top of that their choreo is designed to help with interpreting the meaning of a song or lyric, it isn't just dancing round to the beat or the rhythm you will see with most pop acts, it is bespoke for each song. They formed in 2010 as a sub-unit of a JPop Idol group called Sakura Gakuin which was formed by the Amuse Talent Agency to coach and train about 10 or 12 of the most talented girls aged between 10 and 15 in all aspects of entertainment (singing, dancing, acting, writing, modelling, stage management, TV presentation etc) with a view to the girls choosing how they would like to start or continue their career when they reached the age of 15 and left school. In 2013 after Su-metal's 15th birthday BABYMETAL separated from Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band and they have gone on to be the most popular and successful Japanese band internationally. The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues. After Yui left Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years through to their 10th anniversary and a bit beyond, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers - Riho, Kano and Momoko) taking turns dancing in the third spot. Momoko was the only remaining Avenger from about March 2020 and was finally revealed as the official new third member on 1st April this year. They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They were phased in gradually from October 2012. BABYMETAL had started in 2010 with little or no budget so they sang to a backing track at the start and when they started doing their own small shows guys in skeleton suits (known as Babybones) would pretend to play the instruments. Babybones were there for the first 9 songs at Legend 1997. 'Headbanger' was one of the 5 encore songs and the Kami Band were playing live. This was the last time the Kami Band only played the encores. From the next big shows at the Budokan in March 2014 the Kami band became the support for all live shows. Kami means god or spirit, so in the BABYMETAL lore they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead by the Fox God to support BABYMETAL - as such they originally wore traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. At the end of 2017 the robes were changed for black robes and since 2019 the face paint was replaced with masks (nearly everybody wants the face paint back, or for them to just get rid of the masks). From their first appearance in October 2012 the Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. So many other artists, groups, bands etc do so much of the same sort of thing that they don't really sound (or sometimes even look) so different from each other and they all blend together. BABYMETAL are unique, there is nobody else like them and no other band has the same sound as them .... and even though all their songs are different from each other you will still be able to tell it is a BABYMETAL song. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (ie they separate and as the music starts they charge at each other from either side) and that evolved into the circle pit. This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from the British power/speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it. Live BABYMETAL is where they are always at their very best (just avoid the Glastonbury videos - the BBC did a horrible job with the audio). You have and will be getting a lot of suggestions for more songs, I've already written far too much (sorry about that) to add another list.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey🦊🤘🔥 Nice reaction and cool to see you got this suggestion to start this amazing journey, it's not just another song on BM setlist but also like here, it was the ender for the show in this World Tour 2023 and they recently finished the Europe and UK Tour, everyone loved to have fun with this one. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25, next week she'll get 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About this song: "Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthems and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Next suggestion; - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got that clip safe to react under Head Bangya title, next week it'll be 10 years of that special song and event. I'm gonna try to leave more suggestions in my next comment if YT allows me to do it. See you next time 🦊🤘❤

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grR2nKeIr86WdnU.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZhjapV0mraufIE.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrtja6aK0Nampn0.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN2jnNGe3brckqM.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLiTbMeTzM-mgH0.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM1oiMKblc3UfH0.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/br1yd8x9srS-k3k.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLmaqZyAvtq7imQ.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9BdiLR60dfXeYU.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7mqjJyVsZyVY4U.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8qEZNyovriZg6M.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9lzqbyHs8uoYKs.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLF_f5mnmLPIYpc.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g552ftie286Rp2w.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs1ghdydyM2cdmQ.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5pgidCFrbnMZJc.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/naqemJOp3NTNhJs.html There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b75lqc1ikrnLj2g.htmlsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘

Hi Camilla, peter from Ireland, So pleased you started with this one, it's an epic and it's when they were young, Su was 16 I think maybe 17. They have a huge following hence the crowd and I now have all their blue ray concerts. Some advice that I am sure will be repeated in comments, they are best live, go for live shows, there will be many suggestions, but for another crowd packed amazing crowd participation go for monochrome live, that's this year from, then you can start with everything in between, will subscribe in hope of more reactions, particularly enjoyed your very natural reaction

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) on January 10th, 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer Hideki Aoyama. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or just Su) first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL, although they also opened for 'Guns 'n' Roses a while back. She can see how good she is at controlling a crowd, even here, when she had just turned 17. Su will be celebrating her 26th birthday in a few days (She was born on December 20th, 1997).

Welcome and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。BABYMETAL has just completed their EU/UK tour (20 gigs) on Dec.11 and they performed in your country, Italy, on Dec. 8. The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. This song was played at Fabrique in Milan and Italian audience's reaction was very similar to it in this video. In your video, Su shouted some words at 07:00 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and voice that I love 😄

BABYMETAL is not anime - never has been and, with any luck, never will be. Evidently, many people jump to anime simply because they are singing in Japanese, and anime is the only place they’ve ever heard Japanese singing. Would they still sound like anime if they were singing in French or German or Swedish or English? Anyway . . . . You’ve opened a can of worms! BABYMETAL has been around for a bit over twelve years now (they started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the band in 2018 because of health concerns, and only earlier this year Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs: Doki Doki Morning (official music video) Iine! (official MV) Gimme Chocolate!! (official MV or Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) Megitsune (official MV) BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) Song 4 No Uta (Budokan Black Night 2014 version) Uki Uki * Midnight (Budokan Black Night 2014 version) Catch Me If You Can (Budokan Black Night 2014 version) Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Live at Sonisphere 2014 version) Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) Road of Resistance (Legend 2015 New Year Fox Festival version) Karate (official MV) Meta Taro (Five Fox Festival version) GJ! (Fox Festival 2017 version) Sis Anger (Fox Festival 2017 version) Shanti Shanti Shanti (official MV) Pa Pa Ya!! (official MV) BxMxC (official MV) Metalizm (official MV) Metali!! (official MV) I would include the links but, for some reason, KZfaq sometimes thinks I'm posting spam and will delete my comment. For the links, see the KZfaq playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty”; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . . Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!) We are . . . BABYMETAL!!! KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘 See you!!!

Welcome to Babymetal! They are a powerhouse live performance band with 13 years under their belt! This concert was in 2015 when they were 17/15 years old. You should check out Monochrome (live, Babymetal Begins, Clear Night, 2023) for a more “mature” mid-20s Babymetal. As well as Headbanger (Legend 1997 concert in 2013), to see how lead Su-metal celebrates her 16th birthday 🤣🔥🤘🦊 Look forward to more Babymetal!

The copyright transparency was so light I found myself focusing on your face. Which was actually a real treat getting to see your various expressive changes: curiosity, confusion, delight. It proved to be a real treat. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and plan to watch more. This show is from 10 years ago so the band has matured and evolved. But always with incredible energy, dedication to their craft and often courageous creativity. No two Babymetal songs are the same. They have a quite large catalog at this point-I think 70+ songs. So I will only suggest that Babymetal is legendary for their live shows and as such their live videos often make for more energetic reactions. Their mv's are great but the energy of the performance is truly something special. Welcome to the Foxhole (you'll find out). Thanks for this.

Japanese metal, especially that made by Japanese women is amazing. BABYMETAL are still going strong, although with one of the girls has been replaced due to poor health and the backing band now has a different line up. Su, Moa and Momoko are now in their 20s but their performances are still as strong. Other (female) Japanese bands to check out are Nemophila, Band-Maid and Hanabie. They have a wide range of styles but all are excellent musicians and great characters. This stuff is fun.

Thanks for this reaction, it's always fun to see a first time reaction. Subbed for more. 🙂 The more you dive into Babymetal, the more surprising it is. At a glance it's shocking and then at a glance it's just Metal with J-Pop vocals, but there is so much more. Something you said as an example, ... would a regular J-pop singer be able to deliver such a performance with all the metal music ? Or did they craft the song to fit the vocals, etc. lots of details/questions which will develop over time.

Welcome to the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! BABYMETAL was born out of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin, of which lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) was a founding member. Babymetal was built around her vocal talents and stage presence and was chosen to continue Babymetal as her vehicle after she graduated from SG in 2013. The other two girls Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) and Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) continued supporting Su even as members of SG and after they too graduated 2 years later in 2015. Yui left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues and several other young ladies danced in her spot, but did not have microphones and did not sing. In April of this year, one of those dancers, Momoko Okazaki was officially made the new third member, making Babymetal a trio once again. There are over 60 songs spanning 4 studio albums and each one is different, but almost all are messages of hope and triumph (some are just plain fun). Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘

If you want to hear the other two (original) girls, search out Black BabyMetal-it’s Yui and Moa preforming. They spell (give Su) a ‘break’ during concerts-they’ll perform a song followed or preceded by Su doing a solo before they all come together again. There are only 4 Black BabyMetal songs, but, surprisingly, they are some of the heaviest.

Good reaction. Welcome to the crazy universe of BabyMetal. BabyMetal is an atypical heavy metal group, because they are idols. In Japan, idols are often paired with pop music (Jpop), and Babymetal was actually a subgroup of a larger idol group called Sakura Gakuin. Sakura was made up of girls between 10 and 15 years old dedicated to Jpop. When SuMetal (the singer) started she was 12 years old and MoaMetal/YuiMetal (the backup singers) were only 10 years old. Sakura represented the Japanese high school and the girls were distributed in clubs (traditional Japanese extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming, basketball, sewing, etc.). One of the producers, a lover of heavy metal, saw that Su's singing could perfectly be used in metal and asked permission from the Mother House (Amuse) to create the heavy music club, proposing an experiment in fusion between metal and the pop. Nobody, as they themselves have confessed, had much hope for its outcome, but they gave it the green light and thus BabyMetal, Sakura Gakuin's heavy music club, was born. The first songs were intended for girls between 10 and 15 years old, who were Sakura's target audience. However, their quality and the fusion between pop and metal attracted attention beyond this audience and they began to frequent their metal concerts... a shocking audience of children and metalheads. And it worked, it worked so well that they began to support groups like Metallica, Red Hot, BMTH or Lady Gaga, I seem to remember, on their tours in Japan. And the Red Hot singer commented that he was impressed to realize that part of the public came to see them, not them. And so the base of BabyMetal fans grew. Sakura was a group in which, upon turning 15, the members had to leave (to pursue their careers elsewhere) and the producer (KobaMetal) requested permission again to create BabyMetal as an independent group. Success was already beginning to become a reality in Asia, so they authorized it, although Moa and Yui (they were still 13 years old) would also continue to be part of other Sakura clubs (I don't know when the poor girls studied, but they did). In 2014 a milestone would arrive in the group's history. They were already an established metal group in Asia that sold out concerts, but they had not yet made the leap to the West. In that year his song "Gimme Chocolate" rose to fame on KZfaq (currently 182M views) and attracted the attention of the producers of the Sonisphere festival. KobaMetal had doubts about taking the step, since their musical proposal (Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal, a genre of which they are considered creators) might not be accepted in the West and the metalheads who went to the Sonisphere had a reputation for saying goodbye to very bad manners to the artists they didn't like (even with bottles full of urine), but they were offered to go to one of the secondary stages (about 5000 spectators) and they ended up accepting. But the success of BabyMetal on KZfaq and the fact that all the concerts they were going to give in Europe were sold out in a few days, convinced the producers to take them to the main stage, where they would share with groups like Metallica, for example. How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. . But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one." And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well. They currently have 4 albums on the market: -Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces. -Metal Resistence (2016): an album that, without losing the essence of the first, shows more mature music, going from childhood to adolescence. Songs like Karate were a large part of his presentation in the West. -Metal Galaxy (2018): a turning point in its style. Without abandoning their energy, they turned their attention to new forms of metal fusion (hip-hop, dance music, Hindu music or European folklore, among others), projecting a much more mature music in keeping with their age, which was already around 21 years old. of Su and the 18 of Moa (unfortunately Yui left the group due to health problems) And now in 2023 they have just released their new album "The Other One", which is, again, totally different from what they have done until now (one of the hallmarks of BabyMetal is that their songs are usually very different some from others (although they are all positive adrenaline releases) Currently BabyMetal is considered the most important Heavy Metal group in Japan (I'm not saying the best, that's for everyone to decide) and the most influential in history in the West (it has reached levels that no other Japanese heavy group has reached before). ). The journey through the Babymetal galaxy may be long, but it is certainly entertaining and with a few songs it drags you with a smile into the fox hole.

OK - now that you've found out that there is such a thing as Japanese Metal ( which currently is by FAR the best Metal scene on the planet ) there are some truly superb bands you should perhaps check out ( most of them all female ) in addition to J-Rock . Here are just a few to start with ( if you're interested - but I guarantee you won't be disappointed ) LOVEBITES - any live performance ( there's lots ) NEMOPHILA - again anything BAND MAID - any live performance GACHARIC SPIN - I' start with the MV of " Mindset " and go from there HANABIE TRIDENT DOLL$BOXX WAGAKKI BAND - a rock fusion band that will blow your mind there are SO many more worth a look - but these are a good start IMHO . ENJOY !

Babymetal is very intentionally a blend of metal with idol. The group was created to act as a gateway into metal for audiences that might otherwise find metal unapproachable. The three vocalists and dancers, Su-metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal were teenage idols in a group called Sakura Gakuin when Babymetal was formed as a sub unit of that group, but Babymetal became so popular that they were spun off as a separate act, and have been an independent act for 10 years now. Japanese metal is very much a thing. If you want to see more Japanese metal in addition to Babymetal, check out Hanabie, Nemophila, LoveBites, Unlucky Morpheus, and Paledusk, just to name a few. Japanese metal is thriving right now and doing a lot of cool things.

As seen in all the HYPE comments, you are in for one hell of a ride with BABYMETAL! They are a force to be reconned with. Their discography is vast and varied but you can be sure there are no bad choices. Live is usually your best bet as their shows are always next level. One performance which is often missed is From Dusk til Dawn live 2020. It is the epitome of “EPIC”. Enjoy! ❤ (New sub)

Depending on what you know about BabyMetal they have been around since 2010. You mentioned the other two girls singing, they do do 4 songs under the name "Black BabyMetal" they are GTJ, Sis Anger, Song 4 and Onedari Daisakusen. The group has released 4 albums and each song is different. If you with to continue your journey down the foxhole I suggest for starters checking out Headbanger Legend 1997 Appocolypse (it was filmed the day after the lead singer Su-Metal turned 16) you may alway want to watch Megitsune which is a fan favorite. Try to find live non compilation versions if you can. people will always say live is better than MVs, though I do enjoy the MVs being a non-Japanese speaking person, they help me understand the song better.

👍 👍 BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed little interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.
