my favorite part about daydreaming is that even though it is suppose to be a slower, ballad song, they still stick a guitar riff in the middle of it that can melt your face offf

Seriously, one of my top 3 BAND-MAID songs! Mincho has commented that this was one of her most challenging arrangements to compose, and that she loves playing it. She's a genius. Sai-chan's vocals are soaring and haunting, at the same time. And Miku's (po!) backing vocals are just perfect. And... said it before, saying it again... A-chan and MISA MISA MISA are right up there with the best of all drums/bass partnerships. Unbelievably excellent!

Fuckin epic!!!! You're right about not being sure of a favourite member. It used to change regularly for me..then I saw them live and since then it been Saiki all the way. She comes across really shy and a bit distant in interviews and PAs. Then she gets on stage and she comes alive. She prowled round like a damn panther stalking her prey. Talk about animal magnetism...I couldn't take my eyes off her, I was hooked!!!😁

Glad you chose Daydreaming, which is one of my ever changing favourites from Band Maid. It is good you don't inanely ask "What are their heavier tracks?" Too many reactions to Band Maid, ask this question, proving they completely fail to understand what Band Maid is about. Here is a completely different song from Band Maid, which defiantly does not get listened to by me. I know this track was a change in direction so I don't hold that idea against any band trying out new ideas but fortunately, in my view it was more or less a one off. Her vocals give me goddamn chills on this song. I think the reason why sometimes heavy music fans frown on ballads is because a lot of them feel like so much filler. This doesn't feel like filler. Everyone's still giving their all to make this song everything it can be and they're still paying attention to details like never making the second verse quite the same as the first. The details are always was lifts good music into truly great music. That they are this good at the details when none of them are yet 30... I literally can't even imagine how high they can go in the future. But I'm very much looking forward to it!

I didn't really like the song, When the dragon cries when it first came out. Probably because I'm not really into the whole conceptual video thing. I would rather have just seen them performing it. Or working on it in the studio as the actual official clip. But when I saw them before the live version of this song, it blew me away. It sounded like there was a lot intricate parts. On the original version, and they might have trouble replicating that live. They nailed it, and hit it out of the park. Great performance of that song !

I love your positivity about Band-Maid, but have deducted a brownie point because you talked over one of Kanami's best and most emotive solos! There's a brilliant live performance of Daydreaming which has a lovely solo piano intro (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbpxi6SHqtjTl58.html). The intro isn't being played live, but was played by Kanami. Daydreaming is Kanami's favourite Band-Maid song; someone said it was Akane's favourite too, but I've not seen where she said that.

@@Yotanou No. Not myself. I grew up listening to j-pop and this song reminds me a lot of what Japanese music was like in the old days. It's kinda nostalgic and sticks to my mind, I didn't say the guitar sounds generic though. Kanami's guitar is simply gold in this song. Just like in Anemone. I know it's hard to tear yourself away from Band-Maid, but there are dozens of all-girl Japanese hard-rock, metal and punk bands, believe it or not. For metal, this may be the best of the bunch. Band-maid is the best Japanese hard-rock girl band at this moment, but when it comes to power metal genre, metal- ballad fusion, lovebites might be the best. Aldius is another great one, and the singer's English is really, really good. I mean love bites and aldius both sing predominantly in English. I personally find band-maid more musically interesting but those two power metal bands are great. Babymetal is also good but the vocals puts me off a bit. Super junky monkey is another all girl rock band from the 90s. I think Japanese girl rock bands are far better than boy rock bands.

I pretty much love BAND-MAID. My favorite band at the moment. Havent really listened to rock in years (10 years maybe? Was really into EDM for the last few years) but then the last year started getting into JROCK after hearing scandal, one OK rock, fear and loathing in las vegas, etc. Ive hear of BAND-MAID but never actually heard any of their songs. Stumbled across one of their videos on YT and havent looked back. Domination was probably my favorite originally. Freedom, Blooming, and YOLO were also up there. After a few listens this song is now on of my favorites. Check out Wonderland if you havent already! Saiki hits some high notes which is pretty cool to hear. I think that song is currently my favorite.

I get so tired of hearing this bullshit. That for some reason in order for it to be good. It has to be dark heavy fast and in-your-face slamming. In every moment of every song . Give me a great hard rock song with a good Melody. Over a thousand beats or notes per minute any day of the week. As well as it's only cool and hip if it sounds bad ass all the time. They incorporate multiple genres of music in many of their songs. Songs like this that are just a little bit different, shows musical maturity. Seems like some people can't understand our grasp that !

@@AutumnintheNorth I appreciate the recommendation. I'm not trying to come off as if. I don't want to hear them kick ass in any of their songs. I love it when these ladies do that. I don't need it in every moment of every song. I love the fact that they go in different directions. Now would I be happy if they went strictly to a top 40 or pop sound ? No of course not. But I like the fact that they break it up and mix up different genres of music. They harmonize so well, Miku does an incredible job of backing vocals. She kind of reminds me of a little bit of. One of my favorite bands growing up. An amazing bass player. But his value in the group was probably more of his backing vocals. And I'm talking of course about Michael Anthony of Van Halen. His backing vocals and the harmonizing were invaluable to that band. The same thing goes with Miku here. But the added icing on the cake and the reason she is more valuable. She's the one that had a vision, put this band together and writes most of the lyrics ! Long live rock and roll long live band maid !
