I'm very grateful to BabyMetal because I'm guessing that from seeing them almost steal the show supporting Red Hot Chillies, and later seeing them on YT, that then the Al Gore Rhythm led me to my beloved Maids. I took the same journey...Thrill, this Domo Live...my goose was cooked...binged the channel, interviews, fan-cams (Vlad) started a shiny disc collection and totally addicted. Enjoy the ride.

I always like to point out that Domination was the 22nd song in a 23 song set and yet they still brought that kind of energy to the stage. I would recommend that you give Onset (live-instrumental) a listen.

It's always fun watching new reactors try to figure out what genre or style BAND-MAID is. Futile, but fun. There's no box big enough to fit them in. It would be easier trying to figure out what styles/genres they aren't influenced by. Here's a hint -- country/western and polka music. And even then, I don't know . . . maybe they are. Journey on with BAND-MAID and see just how great their range really is. 🕊

Nice reaction man! The Babymetal/Band-Maid comparisons never bothered me because you can literally compare anything to anything else. And most the time people find Band-Maid through Babymetal, so it always made sense to me why that happens. Plus they both play hard rock/metal and that line gets crossed by both groups plenty. They do all the rock genres from the late 1960s to now. I see Band Maid as the 21st century Beatles. Check out "Renne", "Warning!", "Blooming" or "Hibana." The thing I like is they make me smile and feel good. That's cool and what we need more of -- a hell of a lot more.

"Freedom live" should be your next stop as there is a drum solo that can only be described as amazing. THE best Rock band on Earth. And beyond. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal. Band-Maid are influenced by all of Good Rock, everything from Zeppelin to Maiden to G&R to Grunge to Pop Punk. the lead Guitarist, Kanami, is a huge Santana fan. the bassist, Misa, loves Hendrix and The Smashing Pumpkins. Akane, the drummer, loves Deep Purple. Jimmy Page met them and said Akane was as close as he's seen to Bonham.

At this point in time, the best live rock band on the planet. My favorite J-Girl band has been SCANDAL (for the last 15 years), but these girls will soon overtake SCANDAL as the #1 J-Girl band.

Find Onset by them and youll hear Mincho tap like one of her hero's Eddie Van Halen, but i would argue better.

Saiki is like a dominatrix, she demands that the crowd respond to her commands. Saiki and MISA are the ones dressed in Gothic. Actually when the group began they all wore similar outfits, then as time went on Saiki and MISA turned Gothic on us. Most often MISA and Kanami are doing their solos at the same time. As usual Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
