The fact that such a complex song got rendered so well in the acoustic version is a testament to the geinus and work ethic of the band. No on else could mace an acoustic version of this and make it sound so good.

Awesome reaction! The guitar used by Kanami is Alvarez Yairi. (We Japanese call it K. Yairi.) It's a great guitar loved by many musicians, and is also used by Paul McCartney, Carlos Santana and "Ryan Mear" xD

Thanks for the great comparison, Amp! After the intro part, when I finally realized this was Catharsis, I was wondered how they were going to deal with the driving tempo of the original, with all the instrumental bits popping in and out, especially toward the end. But of course they took a completely different tack, slowing the tempo to a saunter, emphasizing minimal, beautiful ornaments in the guitars and stressing gorgeous harmonies. Genius arrangement.

Hot Rods are used when brushes are too soft for a rock song. "Wonderwall" by Oasis is the perfect example of them being used beautifully. Also, I still wonder how Kanami manages to fly over that fretboard. Also, Miku's back vocals were amazing during the whole concert.

That is a Zematis acoustic that Miku's playing. All of their current line of acoustics have the heart-shaped sound hole. My wife likes that feature, so I might be able to get her to start playing guitar if I buy her one. Anyway, I'd love to know what Kanami's playing. Big credit to Akane for playing so restrained and not overpowering the others. That's yet another mark of her immense skill.

The music was sooo good but I must say that the concert belongs to the bass. I think Saiki had her wear red to emphasize her. Misa proved she is one of the best today. This is one of my favorite songs by Band-Maid. The original version has one of the coolest riffs I've heard. This version is so different yet has the same vibe. The ladies revealed the reason for the Conqueror album during their Commentary video. They felt that their existing songs (before Conqueror) were fast paced which worked up the crowd. However, some of their concerts were in very hot venues and some of the fans suffered from heat exhaustion. The ladies too were affected. They were afraid that someone could get hurt or die while dancing to a fast song. There are fan cam videos out there that show the ladies making comments on how hot the stage was. They decided to make an album of "medium" speed songs so that they could incorporate these slower songs in their concert setlist. These songs provided opportunity to rest . The Shibuya concert on Blu Ray is a great example of how they were able to do a 22 song concert with some of their more energetic songs at the end, because they incorporated many slower songs from Conqueror. As a matter of fact, Conqueror is like a Greatest Hits album. I can't understand those who dislike it.

I did not see this concert. Did Misa play electric bass all the way through? If that is so, I wish Misa played on an acoustic bass guitar, mic'd properly, at least with this song, to get a more genuine overall acoustic "theme" to the concert. Either Misa was uncomfortable with acoustic bass or the studio wanted deeper smoother sinusoidal timbre to the music than what you could get out of an acoustic's timbral & frequency limitations. And you can always rearrange any lower notes higher on staff to accommodate any issues/limits. Plus they are already rearranging the songs for acoustic anyway.
@AMetalheadsPerspective
@AMetalheadsPerspective 2 жыл бұрын
I disagree. The tone and timbre of her bass fit perfectly.
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 2 жыл бұрын
@@AMetalheadsPerspective ... I think you misunderstood. Being that this is supposed to be an "acoustic" concert, the electric bass, as an electrically-powered instrument, does not fully fit into it thematically & conceptually. I don't doubt Misa's playing & instrument tone, but rather the reason of why an electric bass was used, rather than a traditional acoustic (aka analog) bass guitar. If it is because the tone of an electric bass was necessary, then so be it, but again, I would have rather had everyone play acoustic traditional analog instruments, i.e. using air vibration directly coming from the instrument's hull physics rather than through an electric circuit amplification. It would be like a traditional Mozart quartet, but the bass player is using electrified bass rather than a traditional cello or bass violin, which the audience might be questioning. Of course, apart from that the recordings & microphones are electrically necessary. Maybe next time the Maids will be all acoustic, who knows.

@@robwebnoid5763 aren't they using electric acoustic guitars in this performance. They are all wired up with multiple amps?
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 2 жыл бұрын
@@AMetalheadsPerspective ... Yes, but those are still acoustic hollow body guitars, not electric guitars. They are still loud enough to hear without electricity because the sound is coming from the wood vibration. Miku & Mincho are using acoustic guitars obviously. An electric guitar has no significant resonant body, so you can't really hear it without it being powered up & run through an amp, so it's designed for the strings to be electrically amplified. Then it can also go through effects such as phase, reverb, distort, overdrive, clip, etc. An acoustic concert "usually" means the instruments are not supposed to be using electricity to create the sounds. You can microphone them & add speaker output, sure, but that's not the meaning of being acoustic, at least the kind I'm thinking of. The point is that these are acoustic versions of their songs, the songs that normally use electrified guitars, electric bass included. The aforementioned string quartet in [western] Classical music is considered "acoustic", as well as maybe in Big Band, marching band, polka bands, or even an a capella group (voice only). Yes, those will also use some electric instruments, but is mostly acoustic. Any music that was made before the discovery & application of electricity to music instruments is by default "acoustic". The only instrument in the band, practically in any band like this, that is almost always acoustic, are the traditional percussion, so Akane is always "acoustic" whether its on their regular songs or their acoustic versions. So unless Akane decides to use an electronic drum set, which doesn't make drum sounds on its own, then Akane is always "acoustic" in practically all their songs. Again, I don't mind Misa using electric bass, it's just that it's not a full acoustic concert, to me, if she is using it. I would be intrigued if Misa does use acoustic bass guitar in the future. I'm sure other bands have done the same thing, i.e. they call it "acoustic" but they might have 1 or 2 instruments that use electricity/electronics to make sound. The microphones, amps/speakers & mixers are understandable, they are there to record the concert in as best a recorded sound as possible. Hope that clears it up.
@normanweaver7935

@@robwebnoid5763 I would also be intrigued. The only issue I could see would be the amount of string noise she would generate with her playing style. Hate to have to lose those slides.
