❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos.

You’re so good at interpretation. When you guessed at Boy in Luv vs Boy with Luv, you were on the right track about how maturity changed the focus and feeling . They no longer were grabbing at her as a prize object. They were happy and sharing their feeling alongside her (in the mv you see her) in a playful, not forceful manner.

I love that they gave each member the opportunityto shine. And each of their performances used a remix from previous songs from their albums in chronological order up to that day. Taehyung = No More Dreams, Jin = Danger, Jimin = I Need You, Suga = Fire, Jungkook = Save Me, J-Hope = Fake Love, RM = Dionysus. Using props during a choreography is difficult enough, but what they've used here is simply insane. I recommend to watch the dance practice video for this performance. There you can see how many people were responsible that everything's in the right place.

❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the BBMA’s. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, with exception to Jimin’s solo performance, who only performed live only, without the benefit of prerecorded VCR, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! BTS did also perform a version of their solos, while the broadcasted version saw the VCR version filmed day before. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown,for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos, as well as beginning part of RM’s Persona, was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.

Dionysus is already iconic on his own, but with the performance he becomes perfect. I'll never get over that this song didn't have a MV, it's the best on the album. And about the performance, then BTS just shows why of being the biggest kpop group of all time. The 2018 MMA is also iconic, the 2016 MAMA with jimin and jhope putting on a great show.

BTS PAVED THE WAY

Thank you I loved this ALL OVER AGAIN! I think I needed to see this today. Yes it's 'just' an award show, but while I think Asian award shows are a lot more than western ones, this performance from BTS actually surprised even the audience. And, yes, BTS concerts are like this too, but perhaps a little better able to interact directly with the audience. I tend to think that this show, though, was also typical of BTS because of the incredibly sophisticated way it was put together and planned. I don't simply mean the pyrotechnics or the additional stage people/animals, but the way the set list is chosen and arranged, the arrangements of instrumentals and linking sections and the references throughout to previous works from BTS, even the BU. A lot of very deep thought went into this and the result was a form of poetry with meanings actually deepening and enhancing others. All the solos were amazing but Jimin's solo seemed to open up many ayes to his amazing talent as a dancer with great versatility - that section was ethereal and unforgettable.

Bts on mma 2019 is such a standard like it’s was my first award ever since I became a kpoper. I just want to show this performance every person in world😫😫😫 aaand I like txts performance on mma 2019, like it was their first big award? They not even one year old??? Their performance much shorter but so creative and connected with TU! And maybe someone already said that, but on tv version many prerecord clips. Like mikrokosmos (they was changing their outfits after bil and bwl), jungkook solo (it was shows on the screen, but anyway he performed without lightning on the stage) and horses (big audience and loud music not good for animals so yes) and people said some clothes was another then on the screen version. Boy With Luv is such a sweet & adorable song, it was a song BTS made specially for ARMYs. The literal korean meaning of the tittle is 'A poem for little things', but it english they named it as 'Boy with luv'. Also, just an fyi boy with love has halsey featuring in it but in the mv version you won't be able to hear her a lot, mostly in the adlibs, but she has a bit more parts in the original spotify version (just telling you before hand cuz most reactors aren't aware about this & question that if its even considered as a feature or not) and yes, boy with luv has actually two mv's, an original one & the other one is the ARMY version, the song is same but the mv's are a bit different. it's your choice if you wanna check both or just the original one :)

The difference between an (Asian) award show performance and a concert...basically, concerts are longer. That's really about it. Yes, the beginning - most of it - is projected, though. In concert, and at these award shows, they're called "VCR's"...basically just pre-recorded videos - some live, some not (like the beginning of this when they're sleeping...and later, obviously, of course, they can't be walking behind themselves when they're asleep. That's all CGI in the VCR. They are typically as energetic on stage for shows as they are when they did Dionysus...remembering they perform for around 2 hours straight! They keep that energy up during the whole show. They do get a break here and there when they change outfits (or when they have each of them doing a solo stage)...but generally speaking, they're all over the place. They feed off of ARMY's energy and vice versa so the concerts are always pretty hype.

18:45 to answer your question yes the songs are connected. Boy with luv (2019) is a sequel of Boy in luv (2014) but no the ending sign has nothing to do with this. That sign is the official bts sign. Because (1) it looks like a gun. Bts' full form is bangtan sonyeondan which translates to bulletproof boyscouts, the fandom name is army and if you combine bts and army logos it makes a shield. So they have a lot of references to like military stuff? And (2) it also looks like a seven which is a very symbolic number for bts and army
