Bringing this one back so we can cry together. As Danica and Brianna continue to learn about BTS, this video definitely has to be shown to them. Because reacting to everything is unrealistic, the girls have watched some of their old content and their possible disbandment definitely should be brought up when we are looking into the history of BTS’ career. Ate Kimmy was out of commission this month but she is all well now, we definitely missed her, we knew she likely would have shed some emotion when j-hope did. So glad they were able to regroup and decided to continue with their career. We wish nothing but love and light to BTS. Thank you for all you do!

ARMYs can't forget this day. I was so shocked that they considered disbanding considering how famous they had already gotten so this was like the most emotional moment of my entire life till now. I remember crying so badly that I almost got to the brink of anxiety and depression. But after all this years I feel that one day they'd have to disband coz they have their own lives. So I can't be childish anymore I'll support them no matter what and will always wish for their well being.

This speech breaks my heart every time I see it, especially when they started crying :( but I’m grateful that the award show gave them the time to actually speak and didn’t rush them off stage like some other awards shows do

This was like a concert and their these speeches still makes me sad. The shocked ARMYs felt that time. Twitter was on chaos that time too after the speech. Can't blame them it was a shock in the Kpop industry.

I became an Army around the same time as Chantelle, so saw this 2018 speech for the first time in 2020. When Jin said they considered disbanding in early 2018, I got chills down my spine, but not the good kind I normally get from BTS. The thought that if they had disbanded then I would never have gotten to know and love them fills me with sadness. BTS makes the world a better place for me and I don’t want to ever be without them.

For me it was the opposite. I found them in 2018 but didn’t see the video till 2019. Just imagining not having them when I needed them most was terrifying. I’m being completely honest when I say that I may not have made it through that year without them and their music. As you said, chillsss.

Honestly Jin crying also hit me really hard. The member who always tries to lighten or set the mood for the younger boys and who has always been so strong in controlling his emotions as the eldest, seeing him sad pierced me in the heart. Also Tae crying THAT hard, I could tell it was a lot of difficult emotions he had inside :( glad they didn't decide to disband

I'm sure that Jin's sharing that the group was thinking about disbanding must have shocked the entire K-pop industry. 2018 they are the most successful group, this is also putting more and more pressure on them, they are more targeted, the burden they have to bear, I was not an ARMY at that time. But when I became a fan, and witnessed their process, I was really touched and loved them even more. I feel very good when the members have shared with fans the difficulties they face. Thanks to that, BTS and ARMY are more united, love and protect each other more. That's why I tell you, if you consider yourself an ARMY, only care about BTS, just BTS and no one more.

I usually avoid watching that speech bcos I can't even bear to imagine my life without BTS. I became an army in 2020 so the fact that I would've never known them and their music had they disbanded in 2018 scares me. It must've been so hard for them back then and I'm glad that they decided to continue for us. 💜

I can only imagine how stressed they were throughout 2018. After the highs they reached in 2017 with the BBMAs, AMAs, and all they did all over America that year, all eyes were on them and so was all the pressure. They planned to have their comeback at the BBMAs, then they went #1 on Hot 200 for the 1st time, then they went #8 Hot 100, everything was so hectic and with each success came more pressure to do better Like, the vlogs that came out of that era were honestly the writing on the wall of all the turmoil they were having as a group (especially Jimin’s) oof I remember that era so vividly that I was shocked but wasn’t surprised when Jin said they had considered disbanding. 2018, the tear/fake love era, was one of HUGE success and incredible hardships for them. So glad they stuck it out together and we’re able to rekindle their love for each other and their music.

I remember crying so hard watching that speech. I once showed my cousin a Bollywood movie that made me cry really badly, but she didn’t cry. So I showed her the video of Tae talking about his grandmother and then I showed her that speech and she actually cried badly with both vids cuz Tae is her bias. This bring me back memories, 2018 was the year I became and Army and when I saw their performances I was amazed. Many of you were talking about how you cried during watching this, and I have a different story to tell. I was in the venue that day, I was a fan of another group and had no idea about BTS at all, when they gave the speech I was very confused about why would they got so emotional as I thought that was an award they would win almost 99% for sure, until the next year I became an Army and finally realised what was the reason behind and it is still my biggest regret of not having to know them a little earlier.

Thank you for reacting to this. I have not seen any reactors lately, watching the BTS performances from MMA and MAMA awards shows 2016 to 2017. Every one just recommend the 2019 MAMA. If you watch the other performances, you can see how every year their performances gets better and better.

i’m so glad you guys did the whole performance along with the speech bc i feel the MMA 2018 performance overshadowed this one a little so not many people react to this. and the speech still never fails to hurt. 2018 was a tough year for them-and armys. we were going THROUGH it so this award probably meant a lot more to them at that moment. there were good moments in 2018 of course but towards the end it was just..ugh. i can’t even describe the pain and anxiety that was hitting all of us. the hardships video by xceleste is a good one to start with but it only scratches the surface of what they endured throughout the years. a good way to properly dive into them would be the fanmade docuseries THE RISE OF BANGTAN. it goes in depth into their history and all that. u can do each episode along with the deleted scenes and bonus content like a series.

Imagine being there...or better yet a dancer or someone working on the staff with them. GAWD On a side note, I can't listen to let go without thinking of this moment...its so hard. Hace unos meses cuando recién era una baby army vi los videos recopilatorio de bangtan en los MAMA, y desde que vi el discurso del 2018 de esas premiaciones no lo he vuelto a ver nunca más, para mí es como si no existiera y a la vez es como un recordatorio de que ellos no estarán siempre juntos, de que llegará un momento en que su cuerpo ya no resista su rutina tan intensa y deberán separarse.
