Cl was a member of a girl group called 2ne1, they were very famous and were in the same company as Blackpink. After re-signing with this company, YGE disbanded them and locked them in that contract without being able to release music until 2019. Cl was one of the most influential Koreans in the kpop industry, had many contacts, and was friends with artists like justin bieber, beyonce and rihanna. After all these years, she finally released her first solo album called "Alpha" which contains singles like "5 Star", "Hwa", "Spicy", "Lover Like Me" and "Tie a Cherry".

CL along with 2NE1 were pretty much a blueprint to many strong female artists who are currently popping off..someone had to take the heat round/criticism to normalize certain viewpoints/standards. (Strong female artists *rappers who were more than a pretty face). Now it's expected and easily accepted by the Korean music industry. I personally am not a huge fan of this song. I would have started with "Lifted" then "Spicy", Then "Lover like me" CL is really an ARTIST. Her last album was great!

If you want to go way back.. The Baddest Female is a classic song from CL. She has a song called Dopeness with the Black Eyed Peas as well. You should for sure check out more of her music. People have her other songs listed below and they are amazing. Spicy, Hwa, Lover Like Me, Tie a Cherry, 5 star...and more. She also has a performance video for her album Alpha and has a Killing Voice video. 2NE1 was definitely ahead of their time as a group and were the Queens.

I GENUINELY think you'll vibe with her song "Lifted" more....if you also want to check out her group 2NE1, I recommend their song "I Am The Best"...btw 2NE1 and BLACKPINK used to belong to the same label, before 2NE1 disbanded not long after BLACKPINK's debut. The members are doing good on their own, but I would be lying if I don't mention that CL doing the best. Since you know BP, CL is like the Jennie/Lisa of her group. She was easily the standout and had the best stage presence but I recommend you check out 2NE1 too. They're an OG kpop group and I still miss them up to this day 😭 Blackjacks (our fandom) will NEVER forget how YG treated them like trash. I know some fans like to speculate that YG shoved them over for BLACKPINK but you got to see that YG doesn't treat their female artists right PERIOD even if they *literally* paid for the bills and got the company massive global attention.

I love CL and2NE1. I cried when they disbanded. It was al ot that year 4Minute disbanded too. Listen to all of 2NE1 and CL's solo stuff, especially I Am the Best, Come Back Home (rehearsal video), MTDB, and The Baddest Female. The dance crew is famous in themselves: Paris Goebel Dancers.
