Fun fact : SVT started at pledis's basement training room (which is referred by fans as 'the melona jail'), they did live stream of their practices there before debut. Pledis was at it's lowest when svt debuted and their debut album was super low budget. With SVT rising nonstop, Pledis got money to actually 'build' the new company building and they moved there. Now with them merging with HYBE, they moved to hybe building, but that never changes SVT acutally 'built a building from the basement' LITERALLY!!

FML always breaks my heart in a very different way. Jeonghan once said, he's like an island where his members can come anytime they want and take a break. He always said- COME TO ME NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH. And Scoups is like a Father to all of them who always protect them. If you see, everyone was going through a hard time. Then Scoups came and shut the lights so that they would escape their issues. Then he went to Jeonghan-ah. And he was waiting there on a beach for everyone. I LOVE SEVENTEEN SO DAMN MUCH. EVEN HANNIE STANS ARE CARATS COUNSELLORS. WE LITERALLY CHOOSE OUR BIAS WHICH SUIT US AND REPRESENT US. 😭❤️

Wonwoo's part "Don't wanna say goodbye" make me cry everytime❤

Darl+ing was a prerelease before Hot and it's about the lost boys. In the beginning, they do not have shadows like they're in an alternate universe. When their shadows grow, a lot of things happen and reality bites. Peter Pan concept, time does not move, In the end the clock broke and reality set in. Brace yourselves with SVT JAPAN releases, they are super amazing and their Bsides esp. Shadow, To You, Imperfect Love, I Don't Understand But I Luv U, Back It Up and their ballads are outstanding. Thank you for the SVT reactions.

As someone pointed out in the comments, "Darling", "Hot" and "Shadow" are connected. Woozi sees his shadow and Jeonghan sees himself as a fallen angel when they both look in the mirror during "Darling". Then in "Hot", Jun acts out the part of Woozi's shadow, and we see Jeonghan with the broken "fallen angel" wings. It's quite symbolic they all started out in a church, fell to earth, had to face/deal with their shadows, only then to rise again "Hot" and ready to face the sun...the name of their tour. The song "Shadow" is especially poignant, as it addresses the fact that until we are able to love and integrate our shadow selves, we can never be whole or strong enough to face the sun. Thanks to Woozi, we once again have a DEEPLY SPIRITUAL message overtone to the three songs with incredible depth that goes well beyond the songs! Of late Seventeen hasn't been releasing songs that aren't somehow connected and telling a story. Even Jun's first two solos--""Limbo" and "Psycho"--are parts 1 and 2 of a 3-part trilogy he plans to finish sometime this year I think. All kinds of double entendres in Seventeen's music! They are NOT a shallow group of men, that's for sure!

Their albums are no-skip! Been an ARMY since 2018 and a baby CARAT since May. And I think I'm more emotionally invested in Seventeen😂 Their discography and their talent... top notch.

I wrote this MONTHS ago under another reaction, but want to share here, too, as it relates to The Truman Show references in FML. Woozi (a highly empathic INFJ) said he wrote this in the middle of the night, and it was very hard. He himself was going through a hard time (something similar to what's known as "the dark night of the soul). He said he had to dig deep and face all the "demons" and negativity that not only he was experiencing (think of their song "Shadow" which is all about doing shadow work and integrating/embracing your own "dark" side) but what people worldwide are facing right now, and it became very emotional for him and HARD to write the song. The purpose is to express what I would say the majority of the world's population are thinking/feeling right now, especially in those countries where people are under surveillance (Seungkwan, in the corporate world, trying to escape like Truman did; DK finding a camera in his lamp and drones outside his window, so he smashes his TV which may also be spying on him; etc.), where everything wrong seems to be happening (Woozi doesn't even HAVE a driver's license in real life and doesn't drive on purpose, so he probably would feel dumb trying to start a car and turning on the wipers instead...but Truman's car wouldn't start either), Mingyu having a stage camera fall on his car (just like the camera fell nearly hitting Truman in The Truman Show...Wonwoo trying to leave but getting blocked only to end up with it raining on only his right side (meaning the world is fake)...there are SO MANY references to The Truman Show in this video it's unreal!), Joshua saying goodbye to a friend only to find a button pin with a "hint" about what's real and what isn't, just like Truman did. The8 sitting among his belongings that have been put out on the street, just like Truman. They're all trying to escape the "set" or "stage" of life, but keep getting blocked. Truman desperately wanted to go overseas in search of his first love, purchased tickets, but was too afraid of the water to go. Woozi has a ticket, but keeps getting blocked...again, just like Truman did. The only way Truman could escape was to put a dummy in his bed (like Hoshi) so the producers of the show would think he was sleeping while he ran away. Did you notice that the drawing in the mirror that Hoshi is looking at is a monkey...referring to Sonongong...the mythical Monkey King of Dragon Ball ("Super")? And another thing I found significant is that as Dino is looking up at the night sky, the Big Dipper constellation changes into the Southern Cross. (The Cross.) The title of the book Woozi is reading is "Microwave and RF Design of Wireless Systems"...a tip of the hat to a "conspiracy theory" that we're being zapped with negative energies via technology (including our cell phones). It's significant that S.Coups finally walks over and turns off the lights on the set, indicating this life is nothing but a stage. Once the lights are out, that's when you see the ocean, with storm clouds forming in the background....just like the director of The Truman Show created to drown Truman once he finally beat his fear and got on a boat. TOO MANY references to the movie; and it's EXACTLY how people are feeling everywhere. Even Minghao (The8) said he's felt this way many times, and his only salvation--which is everyone's--was to find himself, which he does through meditation. So overall I think the video is beautiful...Seventeen letting their fan base CARATs know THEY UNDERSTAND what they're feeling...especially those in China and other tightly controlled countries...and that the way to overcome is to return to and find yourself. Don't quit, don't let the numbness (apathy) set in, don't hide your feelings by just laughing it off, don't fear your past self embarrassing you now because your past self isn't who you are now. And don't we all have a "secret" from the past that we're too ashamed to tell anyone? We can't let it define us NOW. FIND YOURSELF. FIGHT For Your Life (the billboards behind Jun read "Nothing Will Make You Happy", "Waves of Fear Coming To You" l, "Never Make Mistakes" and "Avoid Challenges/Stay Safe"...the messages/propaganda of the world and what we must fight to find ourselves and WIN. Personally, I cry every time I watch it...not only because it hits home for ME, but watching others' react and seeing their pain breaks MY heart. We must NEVER think we're alone; and one day on the other side of THIS Truman Show we're all in, we'll come together, REMEMBER each other, reunite and be whole again. I look forward to that day every second I breathe. Several weeks ago I watched a Vogue interview with Vernon, Woozi and Hoshi. They were answering questions from fans, and the last question was, "In the next life, what would you want to come back as?" Woozi said if he HAD to come back he'd want to be a cat: someone to love and feed him, and he could sleep all the time. Vernon, however, said, "But what if I don't want to come back?" Paraphrased he basically said that this life isn't real and there's more beyond here. Hoshi immediately said, "This is The Matrix", to which Woozi said, "Yeah...this is The Truman Show."

I love your interpretations of FML, but one thing I’d like to highlight for you to have a bigger view is that the mv is all inspiration in The Truman’s Show, I don’t know if you’ve already watched it but it’s worth it! The lyrics bring a support about of feeling lost but always looking for support, just like Jeonghan at the end who is on the beach waiting for them. Jeonghan once said he wanted to be like an island that they can come and go whenever they want, so it makes a lot of sense for him to be waiting so that everyone could go on the journey together.

Woozi once said that the music they put out reflects the journey of the members, not what is considered popular at the time. I was reminded of this as Josh was sharing how much he liked their musical and lyrical progression through the years. Knowing that they focus on putting out what is right for them makes me love the music and them even more.

Darling MV was based on Peterpan concept~ The time doesn't move, they don't have shadows, That clockhand is stopped by that red stopper etc. But Vernon figures out there's no shadows and comes and explains to others and then one by one things start breaking apart, they get shadows the red stopper on the clock breaks etc. I'm pretty sure there's more to it, I've read other carats comments in many other videos but I cant recall now sorry :( Also FML MV is references Truman Show. And yes Woozi was explaining in Suchwita that its like even if the world looks perfect from outside its broken from inside. And I really like the part where all the members escape and find eachother in the end. Specially Hoshi, he was so happy when he reached Papa coups and Mama hannie hehe.

I do want to say that FML as an album is a JOURNEY and not a singular vibe. so you can take that into account when you listen to it.

The MTV trio of Darling, Cheers, and World are great for the choreo versions and the styling is on point. (Wonwoo was not in the Darling performance because he had just lost his mother. In the "HOT" MV , Mingyu shot at the banner( IDK what it called ) of DARLING , Their Wound kind of similar specially Jeonghan , In "Darl+ing" they didn't have Shadow and In "HOT" at a one scene Jun was the Shadow of Woozi and at another scene Woozi pointing out the gun at his own Shadow which became Scoups later.

I just want to share one reference of a fellow carat as regards to the FML music video: “The entire FML music video is actually based on The Truman Show. There are scenes that are direct references to it, like the artificial light that fell on Mingyu's car from the sky similar to what happened to Truman's car, the pin that dropped by Joshua's feet parallel to the scene with Lauren in the movie, the hidden camera that DK discovered was in his house as well as all the camera drones flying outside his window filming him secretly, the astronaut on Hoshi's mirror similar to what Truman drew, the fact that there was only one spot when it rained next to Wonwoo because the rain was fake, the fact that Dino realized that the stars in the sky are all artificial lights, S.Coups turning off the power because the entire world is artificial, the billboards surrounding Jun instilling fear in him so he won't escape, Woozi's car suddenly not working when he tried to escape similar to how Truman's boat suddenly died, Vernon and Seungkwan realizing everyone were "actors" preventing them from escaping the artificial world, and of course the scene with Jeonghan and them all finally escaping in a boat in the end just like Truman did. The preview in beginning and the credits in the end were deliberatelv made to make it seem like a movie or TV show, its own meta just like The Truman Show. And when you think about it, it's even more apt in their case precisely because this IS already their life in a wav: their life constantly on camera, constantl being watched. Them declaring through this song that they can seize the narrative now is powerful especiall for them who live their lives as idols constantlv in the public eve.” HOPE THIS HELPS! ❤️

All the solos are great as well as the covers but Spider by Hoshi is one of my favorites! Jun and Minghao also did a special choreo video to their song My I which has both a Korean and Chinese version. I also think you would like the special video performances including All My Love Acoustic Version!

I think you should totally deep dive Jun’s solo stuff! He has a bunch of singles let me list my favorites 1. Crow: his first official single release! It’s in Chinese, no MV but there is an official live clip on the SVT channel 2. Silent Boarding Gate: first MV! Also in Chinese, it’s a tearjerking ballad. The MV is super pretty there’s a funny little anecdote about it, which is that I see a gif of it under ALL of Jun’s instagram posts. Because he’s just so majestic 3. Limbo: a real genre shift! While there is a Chinese version (which I personally prefer), the MV is in Korean and GOD is it so aesthetically pleasing. I adore that MV with my life. I always call it the vampire MV even though there is no actual vampire coding. He just has those vibes 4. Psycho: he just can’t stop he’s like a machine. We’re back to Chinese, ANOTHER jump in musical style 5. Fall In Love: This one isn’t even officially on Spotify or anything, and there’s no MVs or anything. It’s a song he first released a clip of in like 2021 or something, but just recently released the full version of on SVT’s KZfaq channel. It’s genuinely incredible I think all my worldly problems would be solved if it was on Spotify I reaaally wanna recommend you watch his Chao Yin Zhan Ji performances (also The8’s!) but I think the copyright on those would probably be crazy. If you do wanna listen to them some of my favorites are Jun and The8’s My I performance, Jun and Yanan’s (another Chinese kpop artist on the same show) The Last Blossom, Jun’s solo performance of The Night Is Too Dark, and his, Yanan, and Tia Ray’s (popular Chinese singer) performance of BB 88. Honestly? If you can, react to the whole show. You can find an English sub on KZfaq and it’s a really good insight into Jun and The8. It’s what solidified me as their fan, and a fan of SVT in general Sorry for the long comment! Love your videos!

Cheers is really a great song, the song itself tells how they started from scratch and how people mock them and doubt them to be successful expecting them to fail but they proved them wrong this song also flex of what they become now and how others are copying them and they also flexing of how much they’re earning now.... there’s a couple korean reactors who react and dissect this MV and explain in details the more understandable meaning of the lyrics coz the subtitles are not that accurate... so literally this is Woozi and the leader unit saying this is our story...
