Here is Dimash in a competition in China , he sings covers ( this song is highly awarded ) from Vitas , after Dimash sing it Vitas didn' t allow him to sing it anymore ( Dimash went higher then him😂) Vitas is from Russia. That was Dimash’s dad you see in the crowd that looked so happy at the end of the song. During this competition Dimash was 22 and he was alone in a country where he couldn’t speak the language. His dad came to surprise him at this performance and he didn’t know his dad was there till right after he finished performing.❤ The funny thing is after that performance as he was going backstage with his dad, he kept asking his dad if he performed well. Dimash is such a perfectionist he’s his own toughest critic.😊

Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. BTW the audience is also the jury. During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. I love this video because he still seemed so innocent. Just a boy and he didn't seem as serious as he sometimes is these days. He still looked carefree. ❗ Alone in China for months with a translator and coach his calls home became increasingly lonely. His Dad flew over secretly and sat in the audience. The crew in on it kept flashing the camera on him, the man at the end. Dimash never saw him until he'd finished and smiling at the audience, saw him ! Grinning ear to ear, he took that stage in 2 bounds, lept off, grabbed his Dad in a bear hug and swung him around to everyone's glee ! It's on the longer video. And them walking and all of a sudden Dimash's face buried in his Father's neck, a muffled "I want to go home". A lot of hearts broke right then.

This song was originally done by a Russian singer "VITAS". After Vitas heard Dimash do this song he said Dimash was not allowed to ever do it again. I believe this is the only video of him doing Opera 2. Great reaction.

This was in China in 2017 it is called I Am Singer and no he did not win he got second place because in 2017 if you were not Chinese you could not get first place but after dimash was on that show and had to lose in 2018 they changed that rule and now anyone can get first place
