The piri is a Korean bamboo flute. Legend says that hearing it or blowing it in a nightmare will wake you up. The piri sound isn't in the video though. You'll notice there are lots of mirrors and images of the girls being doubled in the story line. This reflects the main theme of the story which is the dual nature of human beings. We are light and dark mixed together. The dark side of the girls became dominant because of the witchcraft they practiced. Their struggle is with themselves to banish the dark and return to when they were innocent girls showing their affection for each other by holding hands in a circle.

I'm not 100% certain, but from what I've heard of the instrument, the loud blast at the beginning that gives you a heart attack _could_ be a piri, or at least representative of one...

My Theory Summary: after burning a spider in cold blood, the spider queen, Asibikaashi, cursed them to live as nightmares. The nightmare hunter was tasked to find and trap them inside a dreamcatcher, but they escaped. Having had enough, Asibikaashi took it upon herself to trap them and managed to ensnare the one who did the cruel deed. The other members tried to free Yoohyeon from the curse, but failed. With Yoohyeon trapped inside the dreamworld, the other members look for another way to get her out. Yoohyeon finds a piri (flute) and blows it, summoning the members into the dreamworld. There, they must face their fears in order to come together and escape the nightmare. The girls defy fate and are successful.

thats nearly my summary too,.. with just a small change... they find each other in piri, but dont manage to escape,.. (in my interpretation thats symbolozied by their deathly appearance in the last scene.. together but still trapped)

@@nerasomnia yeah braking out would really fit into it with the lyrics,... but in my headcanon at least and as far as i know officially too,.. the japanese releases were kept separate storywise

I understand how Breaking Out _could_ be a final or alternate ending, but the fact that it's a Japanese-exclusive release makes me seriously question that, both from a Korean and Japanese standpoint. From the Korean end, having the final part of the story being exclusive to another market (and not even released by DCC; they're with Pony Canyon in Japan) is... _bizarre_ marketing, to say the least. And from the Japanese side, the previous episodes of the "Nightmare Saga" (such as it was) at that point literally consisted of What and Piri. That's it. _Most_ of the other Korean title songs had been released in audio format only, on the Beginning of the End album and as B-sides; no story videos. I feel like the videos in Japan were intended more as standalone pieces with connecting themes, rather than an actual _plot_ like the Korean videos...

Scream , Boca and the Odd eye are part of trilogy about how people don't have filter on their mouth when they are online and anonymous. It fights with the fact that just cause you are anonymous you have no right to call people bad words. It also has to do with the negative hate kpop idols get in general. Scream is about how they dont want to scream but at the end they want to make you scream for bad things you say. Boca is literally telling "SHUT YOUR GODDAMN BOCA (MOUTH)", dont say negative things to other. By the looks of 3rd song it seems Odd eye is about Utopia the girls wish will come true once people start realizing their mistakes + every song has a strong story line for their Nightmare concepts. So there are 2 story lines going on complementing each other.

To be honest, out of the many youtubers I've seen reacting to Dreamcatcher, you are one of the very few people that can actually point out small details in the music videos. Like when you catched the spider (not pun intended) reference in "You & I" and put it together with Fly High, meaning you actually paid attention while watching the MVs. Omg? I had to stop in the middle of watching because something came to mind. In Breaking out they obviously all left the nightmare realm and moved into another one,then I peeped that in endless night they kept mentioning they wanted to create a perfect universe where they could escape and be happy and what not,while GROWING AND WATERING PLANTS AND TREES. Then comes in scream with the tree! They’re so elaborate and creative,I love them AND their team that makes everything possible.

Yoohyeon burning the spider angered the guardian spirit of spiders who seemed to be living in the attic of their boarding school (go figure). Why did Yoohyeon do that? The book of spells Dami found in the library prompted the girls to form a coven which began to corrupt their souls and turn them to the dark side (the goop coming out of the mirror shows that plus the other double images in the MV like Jiu seeing herself). The spider guardian curses them to be nightmare spirits and their innocence and souls are burned away (the butterflies burning). The image at the end of Fly High is a pentagram used for casting spells. It seems that the spider also possessed Yoohyeon and in You and I the girls are performing an exorcism to drive her out of Yoohyeon's body. They succeed, but the guardian reappears in the form of a middle aged woman and possesses her again. The girls do another exorcism, but it fails and Yoohyeon's spirit is trapped in the cold white dimension. The story after that is open to many interpretations, but the basics are the girls struggle to get free of the curse and the nightmares in which they are trapped and join together again as they were in happier times.

In Piri i think its Yoohyeon who is snatching them(the one who started the whole mess by killing the spider) bc she's trying to get back to them & since she cant get out of the nightmare the best they can do is @least be trapped together instead of apart & that's why she @ the center in the last shot of them lined up holding hands

24:32 That's actually a really good point, with the feathers? I haven't seen anyone make that connection before, and I think you're onto something. The way I understand it, 'What' is about everyone looking for Yoohyeon, who is trapped in a dream/nightmare because of whatever the spider lady did to her in YOU AND I. What you said about the feathers would add an interesting layer to it: while they were searching in the dream world, they probably encountered things from their past, like the spell book, and the remanence of the pillow fight scene.

The main concept of the band "Dreamcatcher" is that everyone of them represents a fear or a fobia. The first video "Fly High" represent fears and at the end those fears are gone and disolve by them "Dreamcatcher". That is what a Dreamcatcher does, catching nightmares so everyone can have pleasant dreams!!!. The entire story line is to face fears and that good dreams come true, however until today that is not a complete mission yet but eventually they will!!!

Insomnia here. Sir, I like your reaction very much. In the Fly High (Prequel) they have burned the spider and got a curse on them because of it. They were trying to run away, but they understood that they couldn't escape the curse no matter if they would run away or not, because the curse was ON THEM, not that the place was cursed, so they kind of decided to stay all together at the place.

A piri is a traditional Korean instrument which was represented by the flute sound in the music video of the same name. "Boca" means mouth in Spanish. Both "Scream" & "Boca" talk about hate speech. "Scream" talks about hearing haters makes them want to scream and "Boca" refers to how they're going to shut the haters mouths. The lyrics of "Boca" also refer to how cyber bullying leads to suicide..."Too many angels dying now"; not just of regular citizens but also Kpop Idols themselves who have committed suicide. The one who shoots the arrow in "Boca" and the person who gets hit by the arrow is the same person, Yoohyeon, representing suicide. Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. "Scream", then "Boca", and then the just released "Odd Eye".

Dreamcatcher always make us curious, some theory said that actually story line is Fly high - You & I - What - Piri ( Chase Me & Good night ) is was ending of all prequel story line , come with breaking out which is alternative of nightmare era's . I might be late at explaining but bruh the reason why Yoohyeon is at the top of the roof and JiU below and also the lyrics explains that they're still trying to chase the real yoohyeon trapped by the spider in the web of dreams (continuation from you and I) . That's also why along the lines they also speak about lucid dreaming meaning that they entered the state of lucid dreaming to be able to control the dream where yoohyeon was trapped in the hopes of catching her
