Let me guess, you are a member of the EFF or an EFF voter. This channel is creating a narrative how important EFF is. A party that could not gain any ex-ANC voters and even lost some of their own voters. That the MK could grab some votes from them just illustrates how unattractive their political agenda is.

Clever and strategic. Trying to become the new voice of reasoning is going to work well for the EFF especially with MK Party being the new official opposition of which they share the same ideologies. Interesting times to witness a maturing EFF that also will choose to double down on rhetoric utterances. I am sensing a near future leadership change as well as it seems Malema's executives succeeded to change his way of doing things, that exhausted their resources financially, legally and politically

There is so much that is inconsistent between EFF's words and actions that I am astounded there are people who can sit and believe their drivel that comes out at press conferences. This in a country where schoolgirls that aren't teenagers yet are having children. We also have around 1000 deaths of under 5's from malnutrition every year. The DA was not called out on its arrogance the day it took the very same stance November last year when it labeled EFF number 1 enemy and rallied a pre-election coalition that would focus on unrooting EFF from Government. Malema is just saving face, the DA got exactly what they wanted, they never shrunk the ANC votes, but they successfully removed EFF powers hence the removal of their MMCs by the ANC. ANC of Ramaphosa was never intended on working with any one outside DA, hence why Helen Zille knew it was a win at 20% regardless of other party performances. Same is being done to MK Party which is very sensitive to the nature of ANC re-thinking their KZN DA mandate for safety concerns.

The problem with analysts like this one, who are promoting their father’s political party irrespective of whether the leader of that party is arrogant, reckless, and speaks without thinking, is that those who disagree with him are ridiculed. Julius Malema deserves whatever he is getting; he is disruptive, he doesn’t listen to anyone, it’s his way or the highway. EFF is not ready to govern. It’s great to see EFF getting themselves together. I previously voted for them but if they prove themselves and change , by having clear and robust challenging discussions in parliament. They will be heard and their stance understood. It can play in their favour for 2026. ANC must just start respecting the strategic politics which will come through EFF and MK. We must watch how things play out. ANC in Kzn is semi proZuma. I wonder what will happen to ANC structure in coming weeks. Mk must adopt Chris Pappas for please sake he’s in the wrong camp, they need him on their side. They need to decolonize him first from DA. 😂.

...the EFF takes up the position of where the DA left off as opposition party in the previous government. Just hope the party has grown up from their childish behaviour in previous parliamentary discussions. I'm sure members will have a mouthful to say about this, but hopefully will see it as a yard stick of maturity. GNU is about 'national unity' and not 'race dominant ideologically based' unity.

which party did not lose votes. DA ANC IFP, UDM and so many others performed so dismally. the only party that did well is MKP. So let's not allow our hate for EFF to blind us to facts which are common cause. Infact the worst loser in 2024 election is ANC from over 56% to less than 41%.

What evidence do we have of a mature EFF implementing progressive policies? The ANC and DA will love a progressive front in parliament - led by the EFF and/or MK in parliament - almost an auto win. What progressive intellectuals want and what the EFF is in reality, are miles apart. Like the DA on the national scale, the EFF will have to show it can back up sideline rhetoric, theory / "what if" with actual governance when ideology will rub against reality.

This is good, we need an opposition in parliament who will call out the failings of this administration if there are any. Let’s hope they do so effectively and that this rebrand will help grow them beyond 9%. The fragmentation of the opposition vote is sad, I really hope parties like DA and EFF can fix their brands so they appeal more broadly to South Africans.
