I think that's my favorite thing about him... He goes so unbelievably low, but also can go so high on a dime. His range is incredible.

I actually found that when I practice my lower notes, I found it easiest to start on a hum, then move to a closed consonant, then move to more open vowels. When I sing along with this song, it’s easier for me to hit that note on the last “sun” rather than on the first “Orleans”, even though it’s the same note.

I saw you go back after the first verse and knew you were not ready for the ride to come. Geoff is just finding new ways to incorporate ALL of the vocal tricks he’s learned into every video. The G# 1’s are just falling all over the place now. I so enjoyed the reaction from you both. Take care

Just when I think he can't get any sexier......Whew! On another note, there is a video that shows off Layne's range with his beat boxing and sound effects. Look up Layne Stein vocal range and it shows his A0 to C#6! There is also a version of their Chicken Song from a performance in Minnesota that will have you rolling--It's absolutely hilarious!

I have a naturaly low voice for a 15 year old and can sing like this, I think more people could find there low voice if they learn vocal techniques for low singing , thanks for the video and you guys are soo amazing keep it up.

First, I love your reactions. You're so fun to watch. I was originally going to ask if you've seen (and recommend if you haven't) VoicePlay's newest video Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean. But then I decided to stick with the pirate theme and also recommend Home Free's Sea Shanty Medley. The Medley if fun and lighthearted and the guy's are so enjoying themselves. Tim is dressed as Jack Sparrow, with the long braids, and Adam is a trip with the sword. VoicePlay on the other hand is being very dark and serious. They're in costume and in serious character: these pirates have obviously been leading a very hard life. The effect is breathtaking.

When I saw the notification that he was releasing this video... I'm not going to lie, my first emotion was dread. Not that he'd do a bad job, just... dread that I'd not be able to survive this cover. Just saying. Thankfully I (and my two daughters) did survive, but it was touch and go at points.

On Patreon he said he followed some of Rockapella's version for this song. I love Rockapella, hadn't heard their version of this. After watching his version, I watched their video from Japan in 1995. I think he followed some of Scott Leonard's vocals

I know I’m way late commenting but I wanted to say how cool it is that his vocal melody is following the instrumental parts of the original as opposed to copying the vocals of the original!!!
