Will continue the opening reactions around tomorrow or the day after. 🔥🔥 If I ever watch Gundam, should I start from the OG? Or are there standalone series' that I can watch without needing to watch the OG ones?

Gundam can be split into 2 U.C. & A.U. U.C. (Universal Century) is the main timeline the watch order is Mobile Suit Gundam --> Zeta Gundam --> ZZ Gundam --> Char's Counter Attack After that you can watch any other U.C series. A.U. (Alternate Universe) are all standalone series set in their own timeline for these you can just pick a series that interests you F.C. [Mobile Fighter G Gundam] A.C. [Gundam Wing & Gundam Wing Endless Waltz] A.W. [After War Gundam X] C.C. [∀ Gundam] C.E. [Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, Gundam SEED Stargazer, Gundam SEED Freedom] A.D. [Gundam 00 & Gundam 00 Awakening of the Trailblazer] A.G. [Gundam AGE & Gundam Age Memory of Eden] R.G. [Gundam Reconguista in G] P.D. The easiest show to start with is *Gundam 00* (2 seasons + 1 movie) in my humble opinion. It's relatively modern in animation, standalone, you don't need to watch other Gundam shows & it still has the anti-war message of Gundam in general.

Gundam is like a civil war in space with mechs. The Earth Federation vs a space colony The Principality of Zeon. They are all human. The 80s and 90s Gundam songs are my favorites.

Calling the death of half of the Earth and space population of humans a "Civil War" is putting it lightly, it's a full on war my guy, if it was a civil war there would be a brief resolution not to mention it would be at a much smaller scale, Zeon represented those from space while the Federation represented well Earth and serves in its interest, meaning they ain't going to war for space oil but they would go to war if you dropped a colony on let's say Australia or if they stopped receiving space resources free of charge from the indentured space slaves or "Spacenoids" all that while some of them slowly evolved.

As you probably noticed by now, Gundam franchise is mostly about futuristic wars between different political states, with battles taking place in space and on Earth, battles between humans, but NOT involving any aliens. Only 1 particular series called Gundam 00 dealt with aliens, but the aliens were only barely hinted towards the end of the TV series, didn't even appear until the theatrical release that served as the conclusion. Different Gundam shows take place in very different universes, but the very first Gundam TV series and many of its sequel TV shows(ex: Zeta Gundam), prequels, movies, side stories take place in a universe called Universal Century, which has the biggest amount of contents, also being many Gundam fans' favorite continuity. Other Gundam shows are considered as alternate universes.

@@AnimeZipCommunityyes, Gundam is almost ways the main protagonist's mobile suit, even if each protagonist pilot his/her own Gundam type, while other supporting characters might also be piloting other Gundam models.

That's a very nice reaction. Thanks for doing it. Also, your first impression scores are fine. Some Gundam openings, especially the old 70s & 80s ones, need some repeat viewings & getting used to before you can get into it.

@@AnimeZipCommunity Btw, if there are certain songs that have very low volumes in your next Part 2 & 3, you can crank up the volume to listen to it better. The sad thing is, some of the ops are hard to find and they are spread between different uploaders. Many of them got struck by rights. So, some will have problems like low volume, low visual quality or the uploaders added minor changes to evade the rights from striking them down. I hope you can understand.

1979 Gundam changed the anime forever from the one only kids enjoy' watching to the ones adults can watch and enjoy it. How many animes made parodies of the scenes from first gundam. First Gundam is not a mecha anime but is the story of how boys and girls grow up and become a men and women. I think Attack on Totan i herited a lot from this perspective. Def recommend to watch from the first one.

08th ms team is the most realistic in terms of irl war, like there's no beam saber, no laser gun, no super soldiers, only ordinary soldiers operating their mechs

I think was only missing openings are zeta gundam alternate opening (Op1 with different music) and toonami opening for og mobile suit Gundam, this one is fine for 2000s too as the dub did released in 2001 - 2002.

@@AnimeZipCommunity Just to assure you, the Gundam 0080 OP that I used on my list is legit, official, & represents the OP for the majority (5/6) of the show, thus "standard". What Spartan wants is the "special" OP that only appeared in episode 1. Same song just with different backdrop visuals of colony city & kids running around.
